⚽ Mangan, July 11 | The District-Level Finals of the 65th Pre-Subroto International Football Tournament 2026, organised by the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, concluded successfully today in Mangan District.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools across the district in the Under-15 Boys, Under-17 Boys, and Under-17 Girls categories, showcasing outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork, and talent.

The event was graced by the District Collector , Mangan District, as the Chief Guest. Also present were the Additional Director, Sports & Youth Affairs, the Headmaster of Singhik Secondary School, Physical Education Teachers (PETs), teachers, and other dignitaries.

A total of nine schools participated in the tournament:
North Sikkim Academy (NSA), PM Shri Mangan Senior Secondary School, Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Phodong Senior Secondary School, Passingdang Secondary School, Mangan Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Singhik Secondary School, Hee-Gyathang Senior Secondary School, and Government Secondary School (GOR).

After a series of thrilling and competitive matches, the district champions were:

🏆 Under-15 Boys: Singhik Secondary School
🏆 Under-17 Girls: North Sikkim Academy (NSA)
🏆 Under-17 Boys: PM Shri Mangan Senior Secondary School

Congratulations to all the winners and participants for their remarkable performances. The champion teams will now represent Mangan District at the State-Level Subroto Cup Tournament to be held at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok.

July 8th : A meeting was held today with the PETs and Sports Department staff to discuss the development and promotion of sports activities across schools.

The meeting also emphasized the implementation of the Chief Minister’s One Mile Run, which will be conducted every saturday in all schools.

The Chief Minister’s One Mile Run is a flagship sports and fitness initiative of the Government of Sikkim, aimed at promoting physical fitness, discipline, and a drug-free lifestyle among the youth. The programme encourages students to adopt healthy habits through regular physical activity and supports the overall development of a fit and active generation.
