On the third day of the event — during the Losar to Gramphoo stage over Kunzum pass — Paul is said to have lost control of his motorcycle (a KTM 500 EXC) in a rocky section and apparently died on the spot.

Today the Adventure Community lost one of its own.
Veenu Paliwal, one of the first and top most woman bikers of India, passed away earlier today following an accident in Madhya Pradesh. She was travelling across the country on her Harley Davidson, planning to document her journey.
She will be missed and remembered for the free-spirited person that she was. Rest in peace.
