Inter-District Beach Volleyball Championship: Dibrugarh (Women) and Hailakandi (Men) emerge as Champions

Organized by the Ghilamara Sports Association of Lakhimpur district under the supervision of the Assam Volleyball Association, the 6th Inter-District (Men’s and Women’s) Beach Volleyball Championship was held on the banks of the Champara River at Ghilamara, Lakhimpur, despite adverse weather conditions.
In the women’s final, Dibrugarh defeated Dhemaji in straight sets (21–17, 21–19) to claim the championship title. The Best Player award was won by Nisha Kumari Balmiki of Dibrugarh. Earlier, in the first semifinal, Dibrugarh defeated Barpeta (21–4, 22–20), while in the second semifinal, Dhemaji beat Sivasagar (21–4, 21–6) to enter the final.
In the men’s final, Hailakandi defeated Tezpur in straight sets (21–17, 21–10) to win the championship title. The Best Player award was secured by Swapnil Hazarika of Hailakandi.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Putul Barua, Treasurer of the Assam Volleyball Association; Dhanjit Kumar Das, Secretary of the Referee Board; and Pradip Chamuah, President of the Ghilamara Sports Association, among others.
