Here are the snips from today's adrenaline pumping Semis. Congratulation to the finalists!!

Arsenal 3 - 1 AC Milan

Mohit marched on towards what seems like an inevitable
second title. This match was a close affair with Darpan
showing why Ankit had shelled out so much for him. He was
in terrifying form as he parried away Mohit's penalty
after the ball had found Anna's hand in the penalty box.
However Ankit didn't make the same mistake at the other other
where Sohail was the culprit. Mohit however made sure second
half wasnt such a close affair as he completed his hatrick to
enter the final in style

Liverpool 0 - 1 Juventus

Juventus won a controversy marred semi final as they saw off
Liverpool to stake a place in the final. The match was a see saw
battle but Liverpool seemed to lack the usuall edge that had made
them the pre-match favorites. The second half was played under fading lights and hell broke loose as confusion prevailed when the refree decided to play advantage just outside the box. Juventus poked the ball in as Liverpool players stood their ground. Two of them even walked off but the match ensued after much cajoling. Juventus spent the final minutes parked in their own box as Liverpool threw everything. However it wasnt their day as Juventus came out victorious having a little bit of that something which marks you out as a winner.

Liverpool 1 0 Bayern Munich
22' Syed

Syed unceremoniously led Liverpool while Kanaujiya wore the Bavarian arm band. The match was a heavy one sided affair in the first half as Liverpool failed to finish off their chances. Second half however had a different tale to tell. Things were running smooth for Bayern until a quick kick in released Syed into the acres of open space and he made no mistake poking the ball past Jalota and the post. Bayern did flare up their attacking prowess however it was too little too late as Liverpool emerged with the crucial 3 points.

Arsenal 5 0 Barcelona
2' Mohit
9' Mohit
16' Mohit
20' Mohit
27' Mohit

The auction based distribution failed to put a halt on Mohit's masacering ways as Barcelona led by Sutta (aka Mutneja) got shredded into sorry little pieces. Sachin Tyagi failed to live upto his 40 million billing as he fluffed on handful of 1 on 1s with the keeper. Bohara and Sohail did well to augment Arsenal's attack and Mohit picked up from where he left dancing past clueless defenders, slotting it into the terrified net. The early favorites to no one's surprise have sent out a deafening roar.

AC Milan 2 0 Real Madrid
16' Ankit
21' Ankit

Milan led by Ankit cruised to a 2-0 victory over the clumsy unit led by Damani who inexplicably chose to go into a frugal mood in the auctions. The scoreline could have been worse had it not been for the super gloves of Ashok. Ankit appeared in sublime touch as he led his team to a decisive victory without breaking a sweat. For Damani things couldnt have begun any worse and his horrible start was coupled with the fact that he unwittingly assisted Ankit for his second. Milan are the firm favorites while Madrid appear to be the punching bags of the group

Chelsea 1 0 Man City
25' Omair

Well no United fan was happy when the draws were made and Surmaya and Omair were no exceptions. The closely contested match swung from one end to the other with Omair playing a pivoting role behind Mano. Fortunately for Chelsea Omair blocked a suramya effort off the line as the whistle for the first half blew. The second half was also a tight affair with only Mano's controversial scoop making a difference. The goal presented another instance where FIFA's goal line technology would have been helpful. In the dying stages of the game Suramya fluffed a one on one with the keeper as Chelsea hung on to crucial win

Man Utd 2 1 Real Madrid
16' Nishank 18' Tejas
29' Sawan

Madrid's stuttering campaign was finally put to sword as United defeated Madrid to set up a winner takes it all clash with Milan. The teams went in with an attacking intent and it showed. United took the lead as Nishank latched on to the ball and squeezed it between the legs of Ashok. However Madrid were quickly back on level pe***ng as Tejas hammered into the top corner with his left feet. In the dying embers of the match Sawan produced a moment of magic as he curled the ball past Sourabh Singh to bag all the 3 points

A.D.F.L's back with a bang!!! This time things are a little different. Many new rules have been framed, the entire format of the game has been re-devised. Some of the important ones are:-
1.CAPTAINS: Captains would be selected who will bid for players and lead their team in A.D.F.L
2.AUCTION BASED DISTRIBUTION OF PLAYERS:A bidding war will be organised in which players will be grouped into pools and available for purchase (through virtual money). Each captain will be made available 100m $ to spend on 6 players (5 playing + 1 reserve, i.e, a team of 7). The base price of every player has been decided to be 5m $.

You would be made aware of all the important rules in due time. And yes, matches will be held in Kamand. :D

*********A.D.F.L Final**************

Addicks 10 - 1 Footy Rockers

Match Attendence : 17
Match Referee : Syed Jafar
Time Keeper : Arpit Narechania
Camera Man : Pranav Singh

Footy rockers had prooved themselves to be the worthy finalists, remaining unbeaten in 5 games with convincing wins over strong contenders like MFC and Paul's Eleven. The team relied on aggression to burst their way forward with all the members adopting a box to box approach. However for Addicks it was the same script just a different opponent.
Thats all folks, this final was never much of a contest. Addicks managed to knock goals in double figure for the third time. 43 goals for them in 5 matches. After half time The Addicks had one hand firmly clasped around the trophy with the scoreline reading 4-0. Some sturdy defeanding from Nishank and Omair who had to drop deeper than usuall blunted any offensive edge the Rockers had. Mohit and Sahil relentlessly ran around the Rockers defence, playing their usuall one touch sprint game to leave the defenders in a merry dance. And if you are that good, you wont count on Shukla
to score for you.
The final wistle bought curtains down on this tournament which was made epic due to the enthusiastic participation of
Suvalsar. The Addicks went wild, jumping, screaming, jubilation their success. Medals were presented in order to the
top 3 teams and snaps were fanatically taken. Mohit was presented with the top scoreres prize ( *yawn*). An angry seven
up erupted over everyone (just not men enough to get a champainge) after the winners were presented the coveted trophy. For the winners this was a night to cherish

Semifinals Second Leg:

Footy Rockers 2 - 0 Pauls XI

Agg:

Footy Rockers 5 - 3 Pauls XI

Rain threatened to play the spoil sport, but couldn't deter the organizers from making this a game,
as we pulled up our socks and wiped the whole pitch dry. Yes sir we did do that. Now, keeping the
previous match in mind proper security measures were taken..........like.......none really, we just
asked the boys to keep their cool. However that obviously wasn't the way things folded out :(
The match remained in a deadlock for well over quater of play time before a moment of magic from
Footy Rockers broke the stalemate. With Savaan out due to acute laziness :p Paulies found their
offensive swords a little blunted. A final goal from Ankit killed the tie. The final wistle
gifted elation to one side, gloom to the other. However Paulies can hold their head high and
savour their deserved bronze. For FR only a rampaging Addicks side stands between them and the
trophy.

Semi final First Leg:

Footy Rockers 3 - 3 Paul's XI

Footy Rockers and Paul's XI belted out one hell of an entertainer. The match swung from one end to another as passions ran on an all time high. Footy Rockers raced away to a two goal lead before Pauly boys pulled levelled on the stroke of halftime. Baabi was subjected to early boos from the stands while Fateh fanatically
toasted him for every mistake. The match threatened to spill beyond control giving the refree no time to douse the fire off his arse. Shukla however prooved to be the combustible element again as he extended his lead at the negative end of goal scorers with a sublime own goal. Mano almost undid all of his team's hardwork
as a wave of nostalgia of basketball made him scoop up the ball up in his hands. However Ankit failed to keep his composure from the penalty box as he sent his spotkick high and above repreiving the sweating Mano C.

Semi Final 1

Addicks 9 - 2 Army of Darkness

Addicks finally put an end to the Giant Killing acts of AOD. The script was no different and all the descriptions are by now cliched out. The Army had pinged their hopes on their gritty defence and their impenetrable keeper. However Ashok who had a clean sheet and only 2 breached goals to his credit chose to have this one off. Or was it just the quality of Addicks's attack. The pacy trio of Mohit , Dr Mutneja and Omair were too hot to handle for the Army for whom the final whistle could not have come any sooner.
Judging by the scoresheet the second leg has been reduced to a
mere formality.

Group Stages Reviews

The preliminary days of the tournament had everything to offer. For some there were tears, for others unbriddled joy. Group A rode on the path of predictions with Addicks banging in goals for fun. In 3 matches they registered 29 goals with Mohit being the chief culprit. Paul's XI came second best by far, steering clear of Spitfire and Dil Jale early in the tournament. Spitfire finally showed the flames that had eluded them for so long by defeating Dil Jale 6-2.

Group B was a much tighter affair. The eary favorites Maelstrom FC began with a bang, thrashing in 7 goals but jaded out as lady luck deserted them at the wrong turn. Footy Rockers displayed unparalled cohesiveness to fight their way to the top of the group while The Army of Darkness showed enviable grittiness to dump MFC out of the tournament. For Ghost Riders this was one tournament to forget and they would be eagerly looking forward to a much more comprehensive showing in the future editions.
