Probably the first ones to ride in the ridge line over Samundar Taapu. Samundar Tapu is a huge Tarn (glacier lake), parallel to the famous ChanderTal lake in Lahoul and Spiti.
A couple of weeks ago I along with my riding buddy
did this ride from Kunzum La to Chandertal via trekking route and that is when i saw this ridge line over the glacier. I was so motivated to do this line for sure. With winters around the corner we did not have much time to think and action was the demand of the hour. It was a great experience to ride in such a terrain. We had to cross the river, bike and hike towards the ridge, lift the bike at times. The strong and chilling wind was an added obstacle while climbing the ridge. This is the time when all the campsites are closed due to harsh weather conditions, so the window to do this ride was minimal.
It was a team of 4 riders (.barongpa , , , .rana077 )and a photographer

This ride definitely needs good physical endurance, and of course riding skills.

Here in the pic we can see riding the ridge line and in the background we can see the huge Samundari Taapu Glacier
