TCE CYCLOTHON 2020 - PEDAL FOR A PURPOSE

We are happy to inform you that Thiagarajar College of Engineering is organizing the first ever cycle marathon in Madurai “ TCE CYCLOTHON 2020 - PEDAL FOR A PURPOSE” on International Women’s Day, 8th March,2020(Sunday). We are planning to pedal every year with a specific purpose.
The purpose of the pedal this year is to spread awareness of breast cancer among women and to promote cycling habit amongst all individuals.
Breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. Advances, in screening and treatment of breast cancer, have improved the survival rates dramatically since 1989. Breast cancer death rates have remained steady in women 50 years or age or younger.

Cycling on the other hand can help to protect you from serious diseases such as stroke, heart attack, some cancers, depression, diabetes, obesity and arthritis.
The event is aimed at spreading awareness of the above mentioned. We have reached out to numerous cycling clubs and enthusiastic cyclists in the city to pedal together for the noble cause.

The event is open for all age groups. The Cyclothon is planned to cover a track of 21 km starting from TCE. We are expecting a turnout of 1000 plus enthusiastic cyclists to participate in the event. As we have a wide reach to all cyclists in the city and the purpose being a noble cause, the event is all set to become the flagship event of the temple city, soon.

The event is being publicised to the public via media partners of varied platforms like print, visual, digital and social. We have organised pre-event promotional activities that start from 6th February 2020. These include publicising the event ,spreading awareness of the purpose and partners owing a contribution to the event.

In staging of the event and bring about a collective consciousness on breast cancer, we are looking forward to generous sponsors, active partners to synergise with us. We would be grateful, if you could make a positive contribution to “ TCE CYCLOTHON 2020 - PEDAL FOR A PURPOSE ”.
