For those women who think that it's not oppressive for women to wear veils, I'll say you are as misogynist as men and you suffer from imbibed misogyny and it's high time you became aware of it. So take the parda/veil of your brain pl. _/|\_

Wearing a veil to hide your face so that men don't lust for you, binding the feet, wearing virginity corsets, doing h***n reconstruction surgery, dying in the funeral pyre with the deceased husband, etc. are all oppressive. These are the customs of a archaic patriarchal misogynist society.

The plan is to enable them to start classes so that we can enable others to learn and grow, while we do to, in the process.

I did my 9th and 10th simultaneously and missed out on 1 year in school to be with who i thought were my best friends. Bought 3 of everything, from clothes to accessories, at age 14 ½ from the US for them and me. Only to find 1 got married and forgot all about me and the other didnt invite me to her wedding and told me later she was insecure of my looka vis a vis her husband (and cousin). I felt dead for a while.

I tried being different but i kept prioritising others, esp companions, and realised my folly only at age 46.
Late bloomer i am. Lol

Easy Recipe for banana, walnut and date cake of muffins. It works for either 😊😁

1. Beat 1 cup sugar with 1/3rd cup butter for 2 min till creamy.
2. Beat 2 eggs and 1/2 tsp vanilla essence into the mix. For eggless cake, substitute 2 eggs with half cut condensed milk.
3. Fold in 2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda
AND 2/3 cup milk... alternatively into the mix.
4. Add 2 mashed ripe bananas, chopped dates and walnuts
5. Pour in greased and dusted oven and bake at medium until done.

See? as easy as 1,2,3,4,5 🙂

Easy recipe, less butter and eggs. Can't go wrong with it.

I use this recipe for
1. chocolate cake: add 1/3 cup cocoa and a li'l extra milk and sugar to taste
2. banana oatmeal cake: substitute 2 cups flour with 1 1/2 cup floor and 3/4 cup oats
3. Orange cake: add orange rind to mix
4. Plain cake: omit fruit and nuts
5. Mango cake: Substitute milk with mango pulp
6. banana n date: omit walnut
7. chocolate and walnut, good combo.

Enjoy!

When people ask me to sing hindustani / carnatic vocals or play the guitar, I tell them i'm slow at it, unlike sports and hence won't be comfortable.

The truth is,
when i was 3, my sister made fun of me ruthlessly for attempting to sing. I can still remember the sting.
When i was 22, my friend had his friends hide below the staircase and bray after he encouraged me to sing.
When i was 30, my spouse ridiculed my singing in his baritone voice even as my carnatic vocal teacher told him I could sing the notes and he couldn't.
When I was 51 and I played for a friend who wanted to come over, he who doesn't know rhythm from melody, told me I need to start with basics.
When I was 52, and I played the guitar and sang for a friend who had just lost his mom, a guy who knew nothing about music tried to lecture me on it.

And I wonder, what does it take people to give someone, who fears singing more than anything in her life, some space to enjoy her music?

I used to say, "Singing is my deepest fear. It is also my greatest desire."

Now,
The others aren't in my life. They are where they belong. On the shelf. ;-)

On a more serious note, if you think this way, you have a self esteem problem that you are comparing yourself with the rest of the world and wishing to be unique.

Each one of us is unique. Believe that. You have different fingerprints, right? ;-)

Toxicity is a perception.

Instead of making it a 'man' vs. 'woman' thing, let's talk about good parenting which includes lack of toxicity and full presence in parental and spousal relationships too.
