NIPA Rangmandali NIPA Rangmandali, an ensemble of eminent theatre artists in Lucknow, is of the foremost Theatre groups in India.

The group has participated in many national and international theatre festivals and is known for promoting experimental and quality theatre. NIPA Rangmandali, an ensemble of eminent Theatre Artists in Lucknow,has earned great reputation in India as well as abroad. It was set up in 1991 by NIPA, Delhi as one of its constituent units. In 2000 it became an independent entity and was registered as an

independent organization under the Societies Registration act XXI of 1860. In last two decades, NIPA Rangmandali is continuously experimenting in a variety of styles. On one hand, the group has produced Sanskrit plays like ‘Bhagvadjjukeeyam’, ‘Mrichchhkatikam’ and ‘Kundmala’, on the other hand, it has produced Western Plays like Ibsen’s ‘Ghosts’, INVESCO’s ‘The Lesson’ and ‘Exit The King’ and Ugo betty’s ‘The Queen And The Rebels’. Plays like Mohan Rakesh’s ‘Ashad Ka Ek Din’, Balvant Gargi’s ‘Lohaar’ and Mahesh Elkunchwar’s ‘Vasansi Jeernani’ have been staged in realistic style. Use of the Traditional and Folk Theatre in its plays like Chandra Shekhar Kambar’s ‘Samb Shiva’, and Naresh Saxena’s ‘Har Kshan Vida Hai’ has got high appreciation from critics and Theatre Lovers. NIPA’s Productions have been staged and appreciated in many National and International Theatre Festivals in India and abroad.The Randmandali has conducted many theatre workshops in India as well as other countries like Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, USA and Canada. NIPA has expertise in providing training in modern theatre along with Indian classical theatre, based on Bharat Muni's Natya Shastra.The organization has organized numerous Production Oriented Workshops in which internationally reputed experts like Raj Bisaria, Krishna Narayan Kacker, Devendra Raj Ankur, Robin Das, Ranjeet Kapoor, Satyavrat Rout, Ravi Nagar, Shashidhar Acharya, Surya Mohan Kulshreshtha and Mridula Bharadwaj have explored new vistas in the area of Theatre training. NIPA has represented in many seminars and conventions on Theatre Pedagogy and sent experts for conducting Workshops in India and abroad.

NIPA Rangmandali presents ‘BALKAN WOMEN’ : an Urdu-Hindi translation of Jules Taska’s American play, on 21st September, 2011 at Sant Gadge Auditorium, UP Sangeet Natak Akademi, Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, at 7.00 PM. The subject of the play is ‘Communal war between Bosnian Muslims and Serb Christians', in the last Decade of twentieth century.This Anti-War play is a ‘Tragedy’ condemning communal hatred and atrocities against women.
