7th District Kupwara Rugby 7's Championship 2023 Sees Huge Participation and Excitement
Galizoo Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir - The Kupwara Rugby Association, in collaboration with J&K Rugby under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, powered by Growth Sports Academy, organized the 7th District Kupwara Rugby 7's Championship 2023. The event witnessed an enormous turnout of 173 participants from different institutes throughout the District Kupwara. The championship was held on 8th and 9th, May 2023.
The two-day event was packed with thrilling matches, exciting performances, and enthusiastic crowds. Rugby enthusiasts from across the district gathered at Galizoo Kupwara to witness the championship and cheer for their favorite teams. The championship was a fantastic opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and talents, and for rugby fans to experience the excitement of live sports.
The championship featured teams competing in various categories, including senior men, senior women, U-17 boys, U-17 girls, U-14 boys, and U-14 girls. The level of competition was intense, with each team giving their best to win the coveted prizes. The matches were played with great sportsmanship, and the players displayed remarkable agility, speed, and teamwork.
In the senior men category, Growth Sports Academy J&K emerged as the winners, displaying excellent skills and coordination. Govt. Degree College Kupwara secured the second position, while Govt. Degree College Sogam took the third place. In the senior women category, Govt. Degree College Kupwara claimed the Gold medal, followed by Govt. Degree College Sogam with the Silver medal. Govt Girls Hr. Sec School Sogam secured the Bronze medal.
In the U-17 boys category, Growth Sports Academy J&K continued their winning streak and won the Gold medal, with Red Dot Kupwara securing the Silver medal. BHSS Krusun won the Bronze medal. In the U-14 boys category, BHSS Sogam won the Gold medal, while Strong Wave Awoora secured the Silver medal. BMS Doonwari won the Bronze medal. In the U-14 girls category, Ibn E Sina School of Thought Tikker Kupwara claimed the Gold medal, followed by Elite Hr Sec School Kupwara with the Silver medal. Victoriya Stars secured the Bronze medal.
The championship was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Zahoor Ahmad Lone, Manager Sports Council Kupwara, and Guest of Honour Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, Director Physical Education GDC Kupwara. The winners were felicitated with medals and trophies by the dignitaries.
The Kupwara Rugby Association expressed their gratitude towards J&K Rugby, J&K Sports Council, Growth Sports Academy, and all the participating teams for making the championship a grand success. They hoped that such events would encourage
