Are there bad coaches in this industry?

Absolutely.

But there are also AMAZING coaches out there who truly care about your health.

It is also the truth that clients push coaches for results and don’t care much about their health until they experience all the negative effects.

They initially think great coaches are based on what they can do for them right now regardless of the aftermath.

Coaches are guides that should be listened to, but many clients initially pay for quick results, so it puts pressure on the coach.

Quick results won’t be good for you long-term. They are hard to maintain and can create several issues.

Focus on your health.

If you have any of the issues listed in this post, it can be healed with the right guidance, program, and nutrition.

Weight lifting + HIIT + Cardio = OPTIMAL fat loss…BUT if I had to choose one I would choose WEIGHT LIFTING.

It’s not all about the calories your burn DURING exercise but more importantly the MUSCLE you BUILD and the INCREASED basal metabolic rate (calories burned) at rest.

A common mistake is to look at training variables in isolation, rather than as a part of the whole equation for your stimulus and recovery.
Because these variables interact with each other, they must considered together. This example looks just at effort (RPE/RIR) and volume.
But the same thought process should be applied or frequency, exercise selection etc.
The beauty of it is that people can emphasize different variables that are most appropriate for them, or their situation, and still get progress.
For example one person could emphasize volume because that works better for their schedule and desire to spend more time in the gym, and another could use more effort because they enjoy that style of training. It is important to monitor progress so you’re accounting for balancing preference with progress according to your goals as well, but hopefully you guys get the point.
There’s many options once your minimally competent in all the variables, and more people should focus on progress that’s sustainable and enjoyable for them than perfecting maximal progress at the cost of all other considerations in life. To each their own.

You are ready for a fat loss phase. So, what do you need to include in this program in order to reach your goals?

Generally speaking, we want to look at all the ways we can make the person more efficient at using fat for fuel, rather than just restricting calories. They’ll expend more energy, move more, perform better, and recover better, to name a few.

The first thing we want to do is look at what’s going to get in the way of those things.

1 | Perform thorough assessment of health markers. How’s their sleep? What’s their HRV? Morning energy or crashes during the day? Digestive issues? Overburdened systems?

2 | Create a strategy based on the assessment. Many make the mistake of believing there can’t be aesthetic goals and improve health at the same time - there’s a right way to do both.
