CHAMPIONS - that's all that matters to Los Galacticos now. After their long, long pursuit of the most coveted glory since their inception, at last, at long, long last, they have what they desired. They never seemed to lose their balance, topping the league stage, thumping El Cosmico 4-1 on their way. They came back from 1-0 down to win Qualifier 1 against Real Bengal 2-1 with both their goals scored by Swastik, booking their seat in the Final, that too playing without their 2 aces - Pratyush and Snayanka. They won the Final 1-0 against Real Bengal again, with an outstanding performance from their custodian, Sayak Bhattacharya, to be crowned SSL Winners for the first time in their history. They went unbeaten throughout the tournament. Swastik Biswas went on to become the Top Scorer and Aritra Rajbanshi the Best Player of the campaign.

Starting off on a slow note, they started shifting gears once their team began clicking and RBFC went into a frenzy, putting everything at stake to defend their goal. Their team gelled well and the combination was set right from the get-go. They went past the league stage and dived into the playoffs when things turned south in Qualifier 1. Then out came their goalie Soham Singh's long arms in Qualifier 2, to lift his team to the final owing to a momentous performance. He went on to become the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament. In the final, they fell short in the ultimate challenge, to be adjudged the eventual Runners Up. The Real Bengal royalty needs no introduction, and we witnessed their revival on the grand podium after a long time.

Deemed as the strongest squad in the race, El Cosmico started on a very comfortable note, and then started struggling and faultering at crucial junctures. Their path to the Playoffs never looked easy, finding themselves in mudwaters on multiple instances. They finished 4th in the league stage, but in the Eliminator, fortune favoured the brave and they breezed past En Fuego, through penalties. In Qualifier 2, pitted against Real Bengal, they again took the game to penalties. But luck didn't smile this time, as they bowed down, ending their campaign in a respectable third spot.

The defending champions, En Fuego, seemed to pick up right from where they had left last time, winning their first two games in the league and hitting their peak form and were touted as the Winners for the current campaign as well. But fate had something else in store as they gradually started dropping points. They drew the third, lost the fourth and then again tied their last game to book their seat in the Eliminator, falling short of the much revered top 2 spots. In the Eliminator game, they tied again owing to a last minute equalizer and proceeded to penalties, only to lose the game just by a whisker.

The newest entrants in the array, Team DW were impressive to say the least. Starting off on the wrong note, they started gaining momentum, making a few tactical changes and soon they started to flourish. All came down to the last game and hadn't it been for some debatable conundrum, they would have sealed their fate and booked their spot in the Playoffs in their debut SSL campaign. Salutations to the indomitable spirit of the Men in Orange.

Statistically, the most successful team in SSL, being crowned Winners in 2018 and 2019 on consecutive occasions, Eagleclaw couldn't fare their trade as much as they would have liked. They fell short by thin margins and couldn't get past the league stage.

As we conducted Super Soccer League for the 7th time since its inception in 2015, this was the first time that the entire statistical data was covered and tracked virtually.

We thank Soccerji for being our Tech Partner and maneuvering the entire tournament through their app, keeping track of the scorelines, standings, rankings, the squad lists, and the entire timeline of each of the 19 games.
And we are proud to announce that SSL 7 was the first tournament where the application of live scoring in their app was devised.

So, Super Soccer League season 7 ended yesterday.
The complete euphoria around the event slowly dissipates and the wait for the next begins.
We can't thank Love for the Game enough for supporting us throughout this edition and helping us organize a grand event.
Our mutual passion for this game and the drive to make it big, pushed us to elevate SSL to another level.
