As first reported late last night by and , MUWFC are thrilled to announce the signing of the Indian National Team Goalkeeper, Elangbam Panthoi Chanu!

Panthoi’s comes to us from Eastern Sporting Union (India) and she is excited to join the Metro Family for Season 2024!

Panthoi began her career with the U13 national team in 2008, later demonstrating remarkable potential and dedication in the U14, U16, and U19 national teams. Her commitment and prowess on the field led to her Senior National team debut in the year 2014.

Over the years, Panthoi has played a crucial role in representing India in numerous international football events, including but not limited to international friendlies, Asian Cup Games, Olympic Qualifiers, and various other tournaments.
Her contributions have been instrumental in the success and growth of the Indian Women’s National Football team.

We welome Panthoi and her family to our club!

Yesterday’s match showed direct impact of the efforts the team at WINS has been striving to create with its projects

1. makes her return to international football with an impressive 75 mins on field ( The last two years WINS has been supporting her through her physiotherapy and recently helped facilitate the medical rehab, training and trials at Malaga Spain )

2. joined the team for the two matches , coming in from Croatia and scored the opening goal. Her 3rd goal for India (all scored after her attendance at the earlier held Women In Sports Elite Trials)

3. gets a chance to play after Aditi suffered an injury. Showing better fitness and improvement in her game skills ( Panthoi had also attended the training and trials at Malaga along with Bala)

We hope to create more such opportunities for our girls that helps improve not only their skills but uplifts the overall skills of the team and the sport.
