While a lot of people hire security companies in Calgary so they can stay safe, knowing self defence acts as a sort of private protection method so that even if you are alone, you know how to take care of yourself and maintain your own protection.

​What a explosive finish to the 5th Captain’s Cup! Day 4 brought the mats to life with high-stakes BJJ No-Gi Grappling.

​The energy was electric as competitors executed slick takedowns, dominant positional control, and textbook submissions. From relentless guard passes to tight chokes and joint locks, the technical level on display was unmatched!

​A massive congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, refs, and crew who made this entire 4-day tournament an absolute grand success. See you all next year!

DAY 3 RECAP: KICKBOXING 🥊🔥

​The action reached a whole new level on Day 3 of the 5th Captain’s Cup!

The kickboxing mat was packed with non-stop intensity as fighters brought clean combinations, sharp footwork, and incredible mat control. We witnessed brilliant technical exchanges, explosive striking, and some truly unforgettable battles on the canvas.

Huge respect to all the athletes who stepped onto the mat and delivered an incredible spectacle of skill, heart, and sportsmanship. Another massive success in the books!

Day 2 of the 5th Captain’s Cup was a powerful display of precision, focus, and technical mastery!

​The mats came alive with sharp ex*****on, flawless stance work, and crisp technique across both Kihon and Kata divisions. The control, timing, and spirit displayed by every competitor—from young beginners to senior martial artists—made today an absolute success.

Alpha Dojo’s evening Kyokushin Karate class was privileged to host a truly surprise visit from Sensei Somnath Chandra . As a founding member of the NCSF and an IKO3 Branch Chief, Sensei Chandra holds the prestigious rank of 4th Dan Black Belt.
It was an incredible honor for the students to train in the presence of a karateka from the legendary era of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin. His visit brought a profound sense of history and tradition to the mats, inspiring everyone with the spirit of the "strongest karate".
