Hereβs Sania Khan, now a know face as SANIA in running community and among friends. Entrepreneur in industrial wear and also a boutique owner in Kolkata by profession.
Q. When did you first start running ?
A.Β Started running during lockdown where the gyms were closed and as a fitness freak couldn't sit back putting on weight. That's when I chose to start running in '2021' December, with the modest goal to stay fit and fab.
Q.What made you take up running as an excercise activity ?
A. Running was introduced to me as a total body workout, and no workout is better than running. Apart being active and physically fit running enthusias me being stress free from day to day tensions. It boosts my mood in a positive way to live my day. Though I ws vry much indulged in sports from childhood in basketball, karate, yoga and a gym lover too.
Q.Which is favourite distance in running ?
A. My all time favourite distance is a long distance run, a Half marathon till now where I go on a easy note in zone 3, enjoying my run, exploring new routes, enjoying weather and nature and building up endurance. The best part in long distance run are my negative splits for the last 2 kms .
Q.What is the best part of advice you have received regarding running ?
A. To go slow in zones, building up endurance and enjoy an injury free run all through the life.
Q.What is your advice to new runners ?
A. Go slow, be consistent, improvement will definitely pull you up in no matter of time.
Q.Any running related incident/ achievement you want to share with us ?
A.Once I was in high fever the morning I woke up on the race day and I was hopeless to participate in the registered race for the day, but luckily was influenced and motivated by my co- runners and friends which enhanced my mind and I went for it and yes strongly I finished my race with a PR.
