Same family. Different variations. Different experiences. 🧘🏻‍♀️✨

Today’s class explored three variations from the Paschimottanasana family:

1. Paschimottanasana — Seated Forward Bend
2. Triangamukhaikapada Paschimottanasana — Three-Limbed Forward Bend
3. Ardha Baddha Padma Paschimottanasana — Half-Bound Lotus Forward Bend

Each variation changes the way we experience the hips, hamstrings and posterior chain.

🌿 Importance: These forward bends help develop flexibility and mobility through the posterior chain while encouraging steady breathing, concentration and a more inward, calming quality of practice.

Beyond your understanding 🌀🔱🧘🏼‍♀️

Yoga, to me, has never been just about how a posture looks.
There’s a story, a philosophy, and an intention behind the practice. ☀️

Surya Namaskar is not simply a sequence of asanas—it’s a beautiful reminder of gratitude, awareness, and our connection with the Sun and life around us.

The more I learn and the more I teach, the more I want people to understand how beautiful yoga truly is. Our culture and its traditions are so rich, and there’s so much wisdom behind what we practice today.

Yoga is not just something we practice on the mat; it’s something we slowly begin to understand within ourselves. 🧘🏻‍♀️

There’s something deeply special about being a yoga teacher. 🤍

You get to meet people at different ages, with different stories, different bodies, and different struggles—and somehow, through the practice of yoga, you get to be a small part of their journey.

What touches me the most is the love and respect you receive from every age group. To be trusted by someone, to see them become stronger, calmer, more confident, or simply feel a little better within themselves—that is a privilege I will always be grateful for.

Teaching yoga has reminded me that a teacher never really stops being a student. We keep learning, growing, and discovering ourselves while helping others do the same. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Happy Teacher’s Day to every teacher who teaches with patience, compassion, and heart. And a special Happy Teacher’s Day to all the yoga teachers around the world who continue to share this beautiful practice and inspire healthier bodies, calmer minds, and more balanced lives.

May we keep learning.
May we keep inspiring.
And may we always remember the beautiful responsibility that comes with being a teacher. 🌿✨

Panchabhuta × Hasta Mudras 🌿

We often forget that our body is a part of nature. According to yogic tradition, the human body is composed of the five great elements — Pancha Bhuta:

🌍 Prithvi (Earth)
💧 Jal/Apas (Water)
🔥 Agni (Fire)
🌬️ Vayu (Air)
✨ Akasha (Space/Ether)

Hasta Mudras are traditional hand gestures used in yoga practices to work with these elemental principles. Different mudras are traditionally associated with different elements and are believed to help influence and balance their qualities within the body.

In this video, I’m introducing a few of these Hasta Mudras and their elemental associations. 🪷

No, we’re not just learning a few stretches and 2–3 asanas. 🙂 Yoga therapy goes way beyond the mat.
