East Bengal Club Fan's Forum East Bengal Club Fan’s Forum on this day of 1st September 2021 has been established On July 29, 1920, Mr. Suresh Chowdhury, Mr. Sailesh Basu, Dr. Nosa Sen and Mr.

Aurobindo Ghosh in a meeting proposed the formation of a new football club. The proposal was chaired by Mr. Suresh Chowdhury and the name of the club was suggested by Mr. Sailesh Basu. Finally, on a favourable day of August 1st, 1920, the East Bengal Club was established. In 1922 the club got its first affiliation from the Indian Football Association (IFA) followed by the First Division category of the Calcutta Football League in 1924. East Bengal won their first league title in 1942 and since have gone on to win the title a record of 39 times. It is also a founding member of the National Football League in 1997 and has won the league three times. The club is mainly supported by the immigrant population from the eastern part of India (known as Bangal) who were forced to leave their homes during the partition of 1947. For those people, East Bengal Club became a source of Identity and hope. East Bengal Club Fan’s Forum on this day of 1st September 2021 has been established to maintain the authenticity and purity of the legacy.
