Great to see that Rohan and Kaavya winning their respective age category A tournaments earlier this week at the CGL - South Zone Golf Championships.

The recent focus of their training has been on performance and hence satisfying to see them do well under pressure against other juniors in tournament conditions.

Improving performance is so much more than just improving technique.

Got this text from a student of mine recently. The road to progress is different for everyone and I find it extremely fulfilling to play a small role in it.

Gained over 6 mph in a single session.

The speed at which one swings the club is dependent upon the combination of various ground reaction forces that are generated due to the interaction of the golfer with the ground during a golf swing. These are the lateral, rotational and the vertical forces.

During the session we did some work on increasing the lateral ground reaction force towards the target - evidence of which is seen with the increased lead knee and pelvic sway movement towards the target through impact. Both measurements increased by an inch. This resulted in a faster golf swing of over 6 mph and more distance.

Dialing in some turn and lift numbers.

This student of mine complained of inconsistent contact and less distance. After some analysis and work we got him to -

- Turn more with his pelvis and chest in the backswing. Both increased by over 10 degrees.
- Transfer more pressure on his trail side in the backswing
- Reduce chest sway away from the target by nearly 3 inches
- Reduce chest lift at impact by an inch.

All of the above numbers can be seen in the comparison images.

The work we did in the session resulted in better impact positions leading to improved contact and gain in distance.

No guess work. Precise and measurable improvements.

A student of mine playing college golf in the US recently visited for a couple of weeks. While I see him online regularly, periodically in person meetings are always important.

It was a very productive trip where we collected lots of data and took steps towards long term improvement.

From putting - where he was right aim biased ( left handed player ) and opening his putter face through impact to his long game where we got him to be more open at impact with his chest, resulting in a more predictable shot pattern.

Data and its correct analysis is extremely important in today day and age. It matters all the more when you are working with players who aspire to become future champions.

Tanishka finished in the top 5 in the 2025 Leg 10 women’s professional golf tournament last week at

Playing the event as an amateur she came back strong after a first round quadruple bogey - a testament to her mental strength and belief in her game.

Over the last couple of years we have worked on multiple aspects of her game and it was satisfying to see some of it come to fruition last week especially given that this was her last tournament in India. Though she did not win the tournament there were lots of positives to her performance.

She now heads on a full golf scholarship to the US where she will compete on a collegiate level over the next four years during her graduation.

The journey of continued improvement and hard work will go on. Wishing her all the success.
