Nagaland Police clinch state badminton title
Nagaland Police emerged as the champions of the 39th Nagaland inter-district and state open badminton championship 2015 while Dimapur district bagged the runner-up title, which was played at the DSCZ Indoor Stadium, here on August 7.
State police team won almost all the major team events.
The championship trophy was given away by parliamentary secretary for Fisheries, Printing and Stationary Shetoi Sumi, who graced the closing ceremony as chief guest.
Prizes and certificates of various categories were given away by Nagaland Badminton Association (NBA) president and R&B minister Vikheho Y Swu; deputy commissioner (DC) Zunheboto Temsu Longkumer; ADC Zunheboto Amen Imchen and SP Zunheboto.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by ZDBA president Hekato Sema. ZTSBC pastor Dr. Daniel Chishi said the invocation prayer, chief referee Tinu Pongen presented the ‘Synopsis of the Tournament’ and NBA vice president Tali J proposed the vote of thanks.
