ng programs for students (Std VIII to Post-graduates) on various topics like Soft skills, Communication skills, Leadership Development, and Career Counseling. She has also conducted various sessions for students on a large scale ranging from Environment Preservation to Indian Parliament Simulation. Mala has conducted sessions on Communication Skills for companies in Kochi, various retreats for different organizations, (EO, YPO, Yi) which include outbound retreats with families. She is no stranger to Group Dynamics or working with peers, and as in all in her previous roles, has shown the maturity and sensitivity to deal with them.

The journey, however, has just begun. Deep gratitude to the entire Newfield Asia team, there are just too many people to tag and thank; you know who you are. I grew up in an environment which laid down norms for women to celebrate each other and themselves, only on specific days of the year.
I don’t want to wait for Mother’s Day to celebrate my mother, or Women’s Day to celebrate myself. Why can’t I choose to celebrate any woman I want, on any day I want to?
That’s what I do, and will continue doing.

It would be fair to say that over Covid, most of us have been rethinking the way we live our lives.
Why then can’t we rethink how we view happiness? Or even create our happiness?
I found multiple ways to create happiness in the festive season and am delighted to share a few-
1- Finding a special item of crockery in my kitchen cupboard and enjoying my coffee in it.
2- Coffee and Conversations- my two favourite things to do- and who better to share these with than my husband - beats going to the best coffee shop in the world.
3- Japan, a country I love and am inspired by, if not physically, I can still be spiritually there by using beautiful Japanese cups.
4- Dark chocolate cake with an astonishing amount of hazelnuts, made all the sweeter by who baked it and sent it over especially for me.
5- Hosting a Christmas party for six, yes you read right 😊 for a friend who always travels during Christmas and couldn’t this time.
6- Celebrating a loved ones special occasion on zoom with people who perhaps wouldn’t have been able to travel physically, which exotic location could be better!

It’s another New Year and people are talking about resolutions and deadlines.
Does setting deadlines work for you?
Every time? For Everything?
Well, It hasn’t worked during Covid!
When COVID started we all thought it would be over in 3, 6 or 9 months at the most. And come 2021, it’s still very much around.
I’ve been feeling LOST!
And while I’m working on myself-
NO deadline is working!
So this time I am NOT giving myself the pressure of a deadline to feel better! I’m going to take all the time I need!
No deadline this time!

I resonate totally with Maya Angelou when she says this. As a coach, in conversations with clients, and for myself, I have realised that not being able to speak out freely all my thoughts, intentions, obstacles, weaknesses, hurt, betrayals and even victories has most often caused more agony than the event itself.
What story have you kept untold within you?
