ഇതാദ്യമായല്ല ഇത്തരം വിഡ്ഢിത്തങ്ങൾ കാണിക്കുന്നത്.

ആളുകൾ സൈക്കിൾ യാത്ര നടത്തണമെന്നോ
സൈക്കിൾ മെട്രോ യാത്രാ സംവിധാനത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗമാണെന്നോ
കൊച്ചി മെട്രോയ്‌ക്കോ കോർപറേഷനോ
ജി സി ഡി എ യ്‌ക്കോ കൊച്ചിൻ സ്മാർട്ട് മിഷനോ
പൊതു മരാമത്തിനോ ... ആർക്കും ധാരണയില്ല.

ആദ്യം വേണ്ടത് സുരക്ഷിതമായ സൈക്കിൾ പാതകൾ
നഗരത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ഉറപ്പാക്കലാണ്.
എന്നിട്ട് വേണം ഇത്തരം പ്രവർത്തികൾക്ക് പണം മുടക്കാൻ.

തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പത്രികയിൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പദ്ധതിയ്ക്ക് തുടക്കം കുറിക്കാൻ നല്ല ദിവസമാണിന്ന് .

715. സൈക്കിള്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിനെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കും.
റോഡുകളില്‍ സൈക്കിള്‍ ട്രാക്കുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കും.
ഒഴിവു ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ചില റോഡുകള്‍ സൈക്കിളിനും കാല്‍നടയാത്രക്കാര്‍ക്കും മാത്രമായി റിസര്‍വ്വ് ചെയ്യും.

സൈക്കിള്‍ വാങ്ങുന്നതിന് ഉദാരമായ വായ്പ ലഭ്യമാക്കും.
സൈക്കിള്‍ ക്ലബ്ബുകളെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കും.
വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ ഒരുദിവസം സൈക്കിളിംഗ് ദിനമായി ആചരിക്കുകയും കേരളത്തിന്റെ ഒരറ്റം മുതല്‍ മറ്റേയറ്റം വരെ വിപുലമായ റിലേ സൈക്കിളംഗ് സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

എന്നാൽ ഇതിന് മുന്നേതന്നെ, റോഡുകൾ സൈക്കിൾ സവാരിയ്ക്ക് സുരക്ഷിതമാണ് എന്നുറപ്പാക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. അതിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രാരംഭ പ്രവർത്തികൾ സർക്കാർ തലത്തിൽ ഇന്ന് തുടങ്ങാൻ സാധിക്കും എന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

ലോകത്തിന് മുന്നിൽ നല്ലൊരു കേരള മാതൃക ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ രണ്ടാം ജനകീയ സർക്കാരിന് സാധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നാത്മാർത്ഥമായും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

ആരോഗ്യവും സൈക്കിളും.

ഇന്നത്തെ മാതൃഭൂമി വാരാന്തപതിപ്പിൽ ഡോ എം എസ് വല്യത്താൻ പറയുന്നു...

ഹൃദ്രോഗം, പൊണ്ണത്തടി, പ്രമേഹം തുടങ്ങി പല രോഗങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യത്തിലും രോഗപ്രതിരോധത്തിന് ആദ്യം വേണ്ടത് വ്യായാമം ആണ്. എന്നാൽ നമ്മുടെ ചെറുതും വലുതുമായ നഗരങ്ങളിലൊന്നും വ്യായാമത്തിന് സൗകര്യമില്ല.
ആളുകൾക്ക് സുരക്ഷിതമായി പോകാനുള്ള നടപ്പാതകളോ സൈക്കിൾ പാതകളോ ഇല്ല. എല്ലാ കാലാവസ്ഥയിലും ആളുകൾക്ക് സുഖമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കാവുന്ന വ്യായാമ ഇടങ്ങൾ ഒരുക്കുന്നതിൽ തദ്ദേശസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളോ പൊതുജനങ്ങളോ യാതൊരു താത്പര്യവും എടുക്കുന്നില്ല.

2018 ഏപ്രിൽ മാസത്തിൽ ആണ് ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര പൊതുസഭ ഇതിനുള്ള പ്രഖ്യാപനം നടത്തിയത്.

ഇതിൻറെ പ്രഖ്യാപനത്തിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നു..

Functional and easy to use.

Kerala StartUp Mission can promote local entrepreneurs to do design innovations and product development.

But the marketing is not easy with competitions from large players like Hero, Bosch, BMW, Audi and the like.

Hope Kochi could see more of such innovative products in the future. And while planning Kochi Metro Cycle Path, we should accommodate such faster / bigger "cycles" as well.
