Spoke at - Dizzycon 2022 - two day Neurotology conference . The theme of this conference is ‘ The Art of Balancing’.

Yoga and balance go hand in hand - it’s starts with physical, then leads to mental and emotional balance . The body gives constant bio feedback, we just need to sit back and pay attention to our body and mind .

We had a fun 15 mins sessions where the doctors present did some simple balancing asanas and practiced alternate nostril breathing with me .

Thank you Shweta for this amazing opportunity.

Women walking the path of Yoga.

Some of the highlights:

- Feminism & spirituality
- Do women voices count in religion ?
- Women being worshipped as goddesses.
- Understanding women bodies .
- Asking questions like do I have a say ? Am I being listened to ?

We need to ask these questions to bring about changes around us .

During our Instalive on 10th Apr, ( ) Shikha and I discussed about some of the challenges faced by Yoga practitioners and shared a few tips on overcoming them. You can find the video under the IGTV section of page.

In this video, I have spoken about over extended joints . I have an overextended elbow and left is more over extended than right. This overextension was a big issue for me when I had to hold any asana for a longer duration. I would develop elbow pain while holding the asana and again more pain on my left elbow than my right.

Here I have tried to show how by using a simple yoga belt we can arrest the over extension and slowly teach our joints to distribute the weight equally. Once the joints learn to stop over extension you will be able to enjoy holding asanas for a longer period of time and without any pain.

Day 4- Instead of a Yoga instructor today I was an Investor Advisor to them !

We spoke about what is money ?
What is Saving ?
How can they save their allowances?
How to open a bank account ?
How to take responsibility of things they want to buy ?

There were so many fun answers and it was so clear that their understanding comes from what is happening with money around them .

As parents we discuss so many other things but money with the kids! And the first thing we expect them to do after education is to start earning their own money 💰!

It is important to talk to them about money from a young age - importance of saving and investment !

Yesterday I was invited as a guest speaker as an Investment Advisor by a small group of women to talk about financial independence.

90% of these women did not have any income of their own , completely dependent on their spouses income as so many women usually are and hence the term of financial independence is very very difficult for them to understand or even imagine achieving!

So I spoke to them about 6 basic things which they can do right away to start having control of the financial part of their future -

1. Have your own bank account - which you and only you control . Instead of putting your savings in the cupboard but it in this bank account ( in the group of 40 ladies attending the session hardly 10 people had a bank account)

2. Make sure that you are covered under a health insurance of your husband or your children. Ask for this and demand to be included.

3. The person on whose income you are dependent on has to get a life insurance and put your name as the nominee so that your future is secure even if they are not there.

4. Will - write your own will and also make sure that your husband writes a will and you are completely aware of what’s in it and where is it kept.

5. Retirement - save for your retirement as most likely you will outlive your spouse as statistically women live longer than men . The bank account which you have opened should be used as a saving instrument for your future.

6. Legacy- Teach these same things to your kids and grandkid’s as early as possible.

Strong women should uplift and empower other women! We and only we can change the future !!
