We would like to thank all our fans and supporters for being with us in the entire edition of VPL 2017.. It is your faith on us which encouraged us to win the tournament by beating the defending champions White Tigers!! Special credit to the players and managers for bringing the cup home and WE SHALL NOT GIVE IT BACK!!
Congratulations Navneet for being Man of the Match in the Finals, Harsh*t for being Man of the Series and Adarsh for being the Green cap holder (Highest wicket taker).
Thank you Team Olympia (SportsCom) for arranging such a fine tournament. Thank you other teams for maintaining the spirit of the game throughout the entire tournament.

Today's closely-contested match at TSC was, as Ravi Shastri would put it, worthy of a final, one that went to the wire, and in the end, it was the White Tigers (VGSoM Premier League) who were the deserving winners. Blue Brats would like to congratulate the Tigers for winning VPL - VGSoM Premier League 5.0.

Having won the toss and opting to bat after losing one of our star players in Manikanta to a case of misdiagnosis, the Men In Blue more than put up a spirited fight, first to post a total of 93 in their 15 overs, and then to stretch the Tigers' chase to deep into the final over. Strong batting performances from Ramakrishna and Anirudh, and some accurate bowling from Avilash, Rajasekhar and Anirudh were highlights.

Anirudh was eventually named man of the tournament for his consistently good performances with both bat and ball throughout the tournament, while Brats captain Chetan took home the purple cap for finishing the tournament as the leading wicket-taker.

Despite being the most dominant team during the league stage with 3 wins out of 3, and the most consistent overall with a win percentage of 75, we fell short at the final hurdle for the second year running. We hope to go one better next year.

We might not have won VPL 5.0, but we certainly hope we entertained, and won hearts in the process. A big shout out to all our supporters, both within and outside Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur, who kept us going. Hope to come back even stronger next year. Until then, !
