Congratulations to Sikkim Green Hill Runners for their enthusiastic participation in the Burtuk Run 2026, successfully held on 14 February 2026.
The Burtuk Run 2026 was conducted smoothly and in a spirited atmosphere on Saturday morning, witnessing the participation of over 800 runners across multiple categories. The event was organised by Ranka Sporting Club at Khel Gaon, Resh*thang, near Gangtok.
The marathon featured 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km (Half Marathon) categories, with attractive cash prizes awarded to podium finishers. The event was graced by Raju Basnet, Hon’ble Sports Minister of Sikkim, as the Chief Guest.
Adding to the prestige of the run, Chief Patron and Upper Burtuk MLA Kala Rai actively joined the runners. She was accompanied by Raj Kumari Thapa, along with MLAs Aditya Golay and Pamin Lepcha, reflecting strong support from public representatives for sports and fitness initiatives in the state.
Special moments of inspiration were shared as MLA Kala Rai and Amar S***a, fondly known as the Marathon Man of Sikkim, expressed their thoughts and encouragement, motivating runners and youth to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.
