Grand Welcome for Hills’ Daughter Sushmita Lepcha in Darjeeling.

Indian international footballer Sushmita Lepcha received a warm welcome in Darjeeling from football lovers and various local organizations. Women players from different academies and clubs, along with school teams, gathered to honor her. She was escorted by Darjeeling Police and the motor group Blazing Pistons Darjeeling.
A special interaction program was held at GDNS Hall, focusing on school-level football, women’s football development, and empowerment through sports. Coaches and enthusiasts stressed the importance of strengthening women’s football from the grassroots.
Born on March 19, 1996, in Kalimpong, Sushmita Lepcha plays as a defender for the Indian Women’s National Team and East Bengal Women’s Team (jersey no. 15). She began her journey at the local level and went on to represent several clubs before joining East Bengal.
She has represented India internationally and is part of the squad for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026. Her achievements include winning the Indian Women’s League 2024–25 and the Calcutta Women’s Football League.

Algarah Gold Cup 2026 – Final

R.S.A Bijanbari emerged as the champions of the first edition of the Algarah Gold Cup after defeating C.S.A Sikkim 1–0 in a thrilling final at Algarah Playground.
The match remained tightly contested throughout, with both teams creating several chances but failing to break the deadlock. Just when the game seemed headed for extra time, Sagar Gurung scored the decisive goal in the dying minutes, sealing a historic victory for R.S.A Bijanbari.
For his match-winning performance, Sagar Gurung of R.S.A Bijanbari was adjudged the Man of the Match.
In the individual awards, Abhijeet S***a of C.S.A Sikkim was named the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament, while Jasman Gurung was honoured as the Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances throughout the competition.

Algarah Gold Cup 2026:

CSA Sikkim have booked their place in the final after defeating Singling SC 2–1 in a closely contested semi-final match.
Singling SC took the lead in the first half through Utam Rai, giving their side an early advantage. Chujachen SA fought back strongly in the second half, with Jasman Gurung scoring the equalizer to bring the match back on level terms.
As the match moved into 7 minutes of added time, Ongda Lepcha scored the decisive goal to secure a 2–1 victory for Chujachen SA and confirm their place in the final.
Ongda Lepcha was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance and the crucial winning goal.
The stage is now set for an exciting battle as C.S.A Sikkim and R.S.A Bijanbari will go head-to-head to decide the champions of Algarah Gold Cup 2026.

R.S.A Bijanbari secured their place in the final of the Algarah Gold Cup 2026 after registering a hard-fought 2–1 victory over A.K Gangtok in the first semi-final played at the Algarah Playground.
Sanam Rai opened the scoring for the Bijanbari side, giving them an early advantage in the match. Karan Rai later doubled the lead to put R.S.A Bijanbari firmly in control. A.K Gangtok attempted a comeback with Abishek Gurung finding the net, but the Bijanbari defence held strong until the final whistle.
With this win, R.S.A Bijanbari advance to the final of the tournament. Karan Rai was adjudged the Man of the Match for his impressive performance.

In a thrilling encounter at the Algarah Gold Cup 2026, Singling FC Sikkim secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Brothers By Heart Suruk after extra time. The match remained tightly contested throughout regular time, with both sides showing great determination and defensive discipline.
The decisive moment came in extra time, when Helmet S***a found the back of the net, scoring the winning goal and sealing Singling FC Sikkim’s place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

AK Gangtok progressed to the semifinals of the Algarah Gold Cup Invitational Men’s Knockout Football Tournament after defeating Vha Tukvar United FC Darjeeling 6-5 in a penalty shootout at the Algarah Public Ground on March 10, 2026. The quarterfinal match was a closely contested encounter, with both teams displaying attacking football throughout. Vha Tukvar United FC's Bises Thapa scored twice, while AK Gangtok's Nawang Sherpa and Abhishek Gurung scored a goal each, resulting in a 2-2 stalemate in regulation time. C.S.A Sikkim marched into the next round of the Algarah Gold Cup 2026 after defeating Wash Factory Siliguri 2–1 in an electrifying encounter.
C.S.A took the lead early through Prakash Darjee, but Wash Factory Siliguri responded as Nayan Pradhan found the equaliser to bring the match back on level terms. Brothers By Heart Suruk staged a strong comeback to secure a 3–2 victory over George FC in an entertaining encounter.
George FC started brightly and took the lead through Rohan Tamang, who went on to score a brace and keep his side in the contest throughout the match.
However, Brothers By Heart Suruk responded well after going a goal down. Krish Bhujel pulled one back before Boxer Pradhan delivered a match-winning performance, scoring a brilliant brace to turn the game in his team's favour.
Despite George FC’s efforts to fight back, Brothers By Heart Suruk held their lead until the final whistle, sealing a hard-fought 3–2 win in a thrilling five-goal match.

The inaugural match of the Algarah Gold Cup witnessed an exciting contest as Vah Tukvar FC defeated the hosts S.C. Algarah.
Wangden Tamang was the star of the match, scoring a brace to give Vah Tukvar FC a strong advantage. Despite trailing, S.C. Algarah fought back and substitute Dewasish Rai managed to pull one goal back for the hosts.
A major turning point in the match came in the second half, when Algarah's goalkeeper Sachin S***a was shown a direct red card, leaving the hosts with six men and making their comeback even more difficult.
With this victory, Vah Tukvar FC began their Algarah Gold Cup campaign on a strong note.
