We have been working behind the scenes in collaboration with the Kalimpong District Sports Association, and it was truly a wonderful trial session held on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of March 2026. It was inspiring to see such talented young players from across West Bengal.
This marks a historic moment as Kalimpong witnessed official trials for the Indian Football Association, All India Football Federation, and the FIFA Academy. It is a proud achievement for our district and a significant step forward for grassroots football development.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the schools, academies, and associations for their valuable support in making this initiative a grand success and a memorable experience for our children.
Special appreciation goes to Mr. Lawan S***a, Secretary of the Kalimpong District Sports Association, and Mr. Norbu Sherpa, Football Secretary of the Football Association of Kalimpong District, along with their dedicated team, who have put in tremendous effort to create history in Kalimpong.
We congratulate all the selected players and wish them the very best for their future. As the Football Association of Kalimpong District, with the support of our coaches, former players, and respected dignitaries, we remain committed to bringing positive change and working tirelessly for the welfare and development of our young footballers in the 12, 13, and 14-year age groups.

2.5 लाखको सानो बजेटमै, कालिम्पोङ जिल्ला फुटबल संघले 37 ओटा रोमाञ्चक खेलहरू सफलतापूर्वक आयोजना गर्न पाएकोमा हामी अत्यन्तै गर्व गर्छौं।
हामी हाम्रो स्थानीय समुदायप्रति समर्पित छौं र विशेष गरी हाम्रो नयाँ पुस्ताको विकास र भलाइलाई प्राथमिकता दिन्छौं।

कालिम्पोङ जिल्लाका सबै कुनाबाट आउनु भएका टिमहरूलाई हामी हार्दिक धन्यवाद दिन चाहन्छौं। तपाईंहरूको सहभागिताले यस प्रतियोगितालाई साँच्चिकै फुटबलको चाड बनायो।
हाम्रो उद्देश्य — फुटबल बाँच्ने, माया गर्ने र रमाइलो गर्ने — सम्पूर्ण लिगभरि झल्कियो।

हामीले हाम्रो माननीय विधायक श्री रुदेन सादा लेप्चाको साथ र सहयोगमा १० ओटा टिमहरूका युवाहरूलाई प्रोत्साहन गर्न सफल भयौं।
खेलहरूमा FIFAको आधिकारिक खेल समय पालन गरिएको थियो, जसले गर्दा टिमहरूलाई राम्रो अभ्यास र प्रतिस्पर्धाको अवसर मिल्यो।

यस प्रतियोगिताले बेरोजगार युवाहरूको लागि रोजगारीको अवसर पनि सिर्जना गर्‍यो।
टिकट बिक्रीको जिम्मा युवाहरूलाई दिइयो, र त्यसबाट भएको सबै आम्दानी उनीहरूलाई दिइयो—जसले उनीहरूलाई आर्थिक सहयोग मात्र होइन, हौसला पनि प्रदान गर्‍यो।

खेल अवधिभरि स्टेडियमलाई No Smoking Zone बनाइयो, जसले सबैलाई सुरक्षित र स्वस्थ वातावरण प्रदान गर्‍यो।
हामीले खेलाडीहरूलाई मैदानमा मात्र होइन, मैदानबाहिर पनि समान आदर दिएका छौं।

यस प्रतियोगिताको सफलता कालिम्पोङ जिल्ला रेफ्री संघको निरन्तर सहयोग बिना सम्भव थिएन।
हाम्रो रेफ्रीहरू, जो AIFF (अखिल भारतीय फुटबल महासंघ) बाट प्रमाणित छन्, हाम्रो उद्देश्यको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्छन्।
यस पटक नयाँ रेफ्रीहरू पनि अगाडि आए र कठिन खेलहरू आत्मविश्वासका साथ सम्हालेर आफ्नो प्रतिभा देखाए।

हामी खेलहरू मात्र आयोजना गर्ने संस्था होइनौं, हामी मञ्च निर्माण गर्ने संस्था हौं।
U-14, U-17, र U-20 जस्ता परियोजनाहरूमा हाम्रो सक्रिय सहभागिता रहेको छ, जसले कम उमेरदेखि नै खेलाडीहरूको विकासमा टेवा दिएको छ।

हामी गर्वका साथ भन्न सक्छौं कि हाम्रो जडबाट अगाडि बढेका धेरै खेलाडीहरू Calcutta Football League, Durand Cup, र Santosh Trophy जस्ता ठूला प्रतियोगिताहरूमा सहभागी भएका छन्।

हाम्रो मुख्य लक्ष्य स्पष्ट छ — हाम्रो स्थानीय स्रोतहरूको विकास र प्रवर्द्धन गर्नु, र कालिम्पोङका प्रतिभाहरूलाई आवश्यक पहिचान र अवसर दिलाउनु।

With a modest budget of just ₹2.5 lakh, the Football Association of Kalimpong District proudly organized 37 thrilling matches for the people of Kalimpong.
We deeply value our local community and are especially committed to the well-being and development of our younger generation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teams who traveled from every corner of the Kalimpong District to participate. Your presence made this event a true celebration of football.
Our vision — to live, love, and enjoy football — was reflected throughout the league. With the generous support of our Honourable MLA, Mr. Ruden Sada Lepcha, the association successfully uplifted youth footballers from 12 different teams across Kalimpong.
We followed FIFA’s official match time durations, making this tournament an excellent practice and competitive platform for many promising teams.
Moreover, this tournament served as a source of empowerment for unemployed youths of Kalimpong. Ticketing responsibilities were entrusted to them, and all revenue generated from ticket sales was directly given to these youths, providing them with both income and encouragement.
During the tournament, we proudly maintained the stadium as a No Smoking Zone, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for everyone. The committee has always upheld the highest respect for all players, both on and off the field.
This tournament would not have been a success without the unwavering support of the Kalimpong District Referee Association. The Football Association has been committed to empowering local talent, and our referees—certified by the All India Football Federation (AIFF)—are a testament to that vision.
We also had the privilege of witnessing new refereeing talents emerging during the tournament, confidently managing high-pressure matches with professionalism and composure.
Our goal goes beyond organizing matches—we are here to create platforms. Throughout the year, this association has been actively involved in the Indian Football Association’s U-14, U-17, and U-20 projects, aiming to nurture talent from a young age.
We are proud to share that many players from Kalimpong, promoted through our grassroots efforts, have gone on to participate in prestigious tournaments like the Calcutta Football League, Durand Cup, and the Santosh Trophy.
Our core focus remains clear: to uplift and promote our local resources, ensuring that talent from Kalimpong gets the recognition and opportunities it deserves.

S.U.M.I Heroes beat Kumudini Homes 3-0 at Jorethang.

S.U.M.I have marched their way into the grand finals of the Independence Day Inter School Football Tournament after a thrilling clash against Kumudini Homes ‘A’.
The match remained goalless in regulation time, forcing the outcome to be decided from the spot. In the penalty shootout, S.U.M.I kept their composure to seal a convincing 3-0 victory.
Once again, captain and custodian Tenzing Lama stood tall as the team’s hero, making two outstanding saves that turned the tide in his side’s favour. His leadership and resilience proved crucial in guiding the Heroes to this memorable win.
The winners of the tournament will be rewarded with Rs 3 Lakhs, whereas the runners up will be awarded with Rs 1.5 Lakhs.
Congratulations to the entire S.U.M.I squad for their fighting spirit, and best wishes as they prepare for the finals. The journey isn’t over yet — the ultimate battle awaits!
