The Football Association of Kalimpong District is proud to have continued the legacy, started in 2023, of providing senior footballers of Kalimpong with a full 90 minutes of competitive match experience in their hometown.
In 2023, Kalimpong Police emerged as the champions, while in 2025, Georgian F.C. lifted the title. More than the trophy, the true achievement has been giving our local players the opportunity to compete, grow, and prepare for bigger challenges.
This initiative has helped our footballers gain valuable match experience, enabling them to perform confidently in prestigious tournaments. Teams from Kalimpong have gone on to achieve remarkable success, winning titles such as the Sukna Gold Cup, Independence Cup, and Shahid Cup, proving the strength and quality of football in our district.
Today, this legacy continues through the collective efforts of different associations, clubs, and stakeholders who remain committed to the development of football in Kalimpong.
The Football Association of Kalimpong District extends its heartfelt gratitude to every member associated with the game, especially the clubs that continuously nurture and provide talented players. We have been working behind the scenes in collaboration with the Kalimpong District Sports Association, and it was truly a wonderful trial session held on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of March 2026. It was inspiring to see such talented young players from across West Bengal.
This marks a historic moment as Kalimpong witnessed official trials for the Indian Football Association, All India Football Federation, and the FIFA Academy. It is a proud achievement for our district and a significant step forward for grassroots football development.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the schools, academies, and associations for their valuable support in making this initiative a grand success and a memorable experience for our children.
Special appreciation goes to Mr. Lawan S***a, Secretary of the Kalimpong District Sports Association, and Mr. Norbu Sherpa, Football Secretary of the Football Association of Kalimpong District, along with their dedicated team, who have put in tremendous effort to create history in Kalimpong.
We congratulate all the selected players and wish them the very best for their future.
