Behind every fearless player is a fearless coach‼️
We had the privilege of meeting the legendary Sonam Wangdi Bhutia Sir today. The meeting was enlightening, providing valuable insights into the evolution of Kalimpong football over the years. Sonam Wangdi Bhutia has nurtured numerous batches of players, many of whom have gone on to compete at the highest level. We reminisced about the past, hearing stories about Kharay Uncle, the late Dhendup Uncle, Keshav Pradhan Naresh Pun, Naresh Karkee, BadalRai, Sabin Rai, and many others. The formation of SASUM, KUSUM, and later School 11 was also discussed. He dedicated four decades of his life to Kalimpong football, serving as the General Secretary of the KSA until 2007. We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet this living legend, who has given so much to Kalimpong. Being thankful is the only thing that we can do to our loving Sir. We love you and ever grateful to you for everything.
