𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫 - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧.
💀💀
It is quite often that we come across claims that state- "Brown sugar is healthier", "Honey is organic", "Jaggery is a traditional sweetener and traditions are supposed to be carried and passed on".

YES THEY ARE ANY DAY BETTER THAN SUGAR BUT

SUGAR IS SUGAR

ɴᴏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴍᴀᴋᴇꜱ ɪᴛ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜɪᴇʀ ᴛᴏ ᴄᴏɴꜱᴜᴍᴇ ʙʏ ᴍᴇʀᴇʟʏ ᴄʜᴀɴɢɪɴɢ ɪᴛꜱ ꜰᴏʀᴍ.
𝙎𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙧-𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣, 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙞𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙙.
Jaggery, honey and brown sugar are no different from the refined white sugar as they all are ranked high in the glycemic index (which induces fluctuation in insulin levels of the body ) and hence is considered to be venomous for the diabetic.

Adding onto that, is it not healthy for people suffering from overweight to consume it, for it boosts the insulin levels, which is further directly proportionate to the fat deposit in the body.
Not just that, but excess sugar intake is also linked with increased risk of cancer, poor heart health, increased cellular ageing and the acceleration of the skin ageing process.

TO LEAD A HEALTHIER LIFE IT IS WISER TO QUIT SUGAR AND ITS TYPES LIKE HONEY, JAGGERY, AND BROWN SUGAR AND SWITCH ON TO BETTER ALTERNATIVES.

𝙎𝙤, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙨: 𝙄𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙧?
There surely is.

Stevia is considered to be the closest healthier alternative to refined sugar because of the fact that it is made from a plant called stevia (also known as 'meethi tulsi' in Himachal) which is 6 times sweeter than regular sugar. Stevia carries Very fewer calories unlike sugar, which has FOUR calories in 1 gram.

LET'S REVERSE THE PROCESS OF AGEING TOGETHER. LET'S GET HEALTHIER TOGETHER.

For a lot of us, winter means Makki Ki Roti and Sarson ka Saag. It is a staple food in a lot of homes during the winter season. And without a doubt, there are plenty of reasons why it makes a good meal in winters apart from being tasty.
Makki is gluten-free and very much filling to meet the extra energy your body needs during winters. It is a good source of potassium. Sarson ka Saag has its benefits. It is rich in iron and other minerals. There is nothing wrong with having it.
But the way we have it is the actual culprit and probably the reason for your winter gain. Here are a few reasons why -
1 - Saag is generally cooked and heated multiple times. This destroys all the nutrients in it.
2 - People add a lot of butter/ghee to make saag tastier. Overcooking also means adding butter/ghee to it again and again. All of this extra ghee/butter leads to weight gain.
3 - Makki ki Roti is often fried or garnished with ghee/butter too.
4 - Corn (Makki) is very high on the glycemic index which makes it unfavorable for people looking to lose weight and people who are diabetic.
5 - This combination is not suitable for people suffering from digestive issues and having severe gastric issues.

What if we tell you, you can enjoy your favorite Makki ki Roti and Sarson ka Saag and also not gain weight 😮🥰🥰

Here is how to enjoy Makki ki Roti and Sarson ka Saag without feeling guilty -
1 - Avoid eating it outside. Most of the places that serve it add a lot of ghee/butter to make it tastier and preserve it for a long.
2 - If you are having saag, have it in one meal a day (preferably afternoon).
3 - Don't store saag and refry or reheat it again and again. Try to make it fresh each time you want to have it.
4 - You can cook your saag in Ghee. Don't add a lot of butter/ghee to saag after it is cooked.
5 - Don't fry or garnish your Makki ki Roti.
6 - If you are having Makki ki Roti alone, add vegetables like reddish, carrot, and methi to make it more nutritious and tasty.
PROTIP - You can also add Oat Bran to Makki ki Roti to make it more fibre rich and hearty.

Bottom line -
Makki ki Roti and Sarso ka Saag look so innocent. But it can lead to a lot of weight gain if you are not having it the proper way. We never say to avoid good/tasty Indian homemade foods. We just want to make you aware of how these should be consumed without worrying about weight gain.
