Janglal Singson ‘Panpitu’ has passed away after a long illness. He was a former PFC goalkeeper and one of the finest of his time in the early 2000s.
Janglal Singson was a former goalkeeper for PFC (a local club in Jiribam, Manipur) and is remembered as one of the best in his era during the early 2000s.
He played a key role in helping his team win the top First Division League titles multiple times and also claimed the prestigious KC Malik Champions trophy—considered the biggest football tournament in Jiribam District—on two occasions.
Panpitu earned admiration for his bravery, fearless diving, and willingness to fight for every ball, which made him a fan favorite and a model for younger goalkeepers in the area.
His presence in the goal symbolized resilience and dedication, qualities that will continue to inspire players in Jiribam’s football circles for years to come.
Panpitu will be remembered as one of the greatest goalkeepers in local football history, known for his courage, fearless diving, and fighting spirit.
