Instead of doing endless volume, 9 sets over 3 exercises for quads in the same session (then not training them again for a week, until your next leg day), what you need is FEWER sets but with higher EFFORT.

This was the second and last set of quads for me in this session. Training at this intensity means I don’t need to do 3 quad exercises like so many people do (squats into leg press into leg extension anyone?), instead I just have 1 exercise that I train with high effort on, then repeat again 2 days later.

If you’re busy (like me), with a life outside of the gym, your most efficient way to train will be full body 3x a week and here’s why:

You get to train every single muscle 3x a week.
You stimulate, then recover and repeat this cycle 3x in the same week vs 1x for someone else that trains bodypart splits.

It’s chaos-proof.
You and I travel and have social lives: eventually if a session is missed, you don’t end up not training a certain body part for a week.

It saves time.
You’re only required to go to the gym 3x a week. And you only have to do 2-4 sets per body part.

But because volume per session is low (2-4 sets only), you have to put everything into those 2-4 sets.
But if you’re anything like me, having to train hard is an upside too.

His video perfectly illustrates that if you’re struggling with your energy, mood or digestion, it’s not just due to “aging”, instead there’s always a reason for it.

Listen to your body, find the root cause and fix it instead of accepting a slow decline.
