Currenton and Rising Athletes Sign MoU for Bharat Premium League

Partnership marks a new phase in the development of the cricketing platform

Jammu, August 27: In a significant development for cricket and emerging sporting talent, Currenton and Rising Athletes have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development and promotion of the Bharat Premium League (BPL), a cricket premier league aimed at providing a professionally organised platform for talented and emerging cricketers.

The MoU was signed by Sahil Kohli, representing Currenton, and Akshay Garoo, representing Rising Athletes, at a ceremony in Jammu.

The collaboration brings together two complementary strengths, with Currenton bringing its professional and commercial capabilities to the initiative, while Rising Athletes brings its experience and engagement in the sporting ecosystem. The partnership is aimed at giving the BPL a stronger institutional foundation and creating a league capable of attracting players, teams, sponsors and cricket enthusiasts.

The Bharat Premium League is envisaged as a platform where promising cricketers can compete at a meaningful level, gain exposure and demonstrate their abilities in a competitive environment. The league also seeks to contribute to the broader development of cricket by creating opportunities for players who may otherwise find limited avenues to showcase their talent.

Speaking on the occasion, Sahil Kohli said that the association represents an important milestone in the journey of the Bharat Premium League. He said the objective is to develop the league with professionalism, long-term vision and a clear focus on creating opportunities for emerging cricketing talent.

Akshay Garoo said that the partnership would provide fresh impetus to the BPL and help create a stronger platform for players and other stakeholders associated with cricket. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would enable the league to grow into a recognised and professionally organised cricketing property.

The partners said the focus going forward would be on strengthening the league's sporting framework, expanding its reach and creating an engaging experience for players, supporters and cricket lovers.

The signing of the MoU marks the beginning of a new phase for the Bharat Premium League, with the partners expected to undertake preparations for the forthcoming edition and announce further details regarding the tournament in due course.

The initiative is expected to add another competitive platform to the cricketing landscape and provide emerging talent with an opportunity to step onto a larger stage.

The Biggest Community Cricket Celebration of Jammu & Kashmir Returns!

Rising Athletes of Jammu & Kashmir, in association with Epilogue News Network, is proud to announce भारत Premier League – Season 4, bringing together cricketing talent, passion and community spirit on one platform.

After the successful previous editions, Season 4 promises to be bigger, more competitive and more exciting, providing players from different age groups and categories an opportunity to showcase their talent and compete in a professionally organised cricketing environment.

🏆 CATEGORIES OF PARTICIPATION

👑 Men’s Category
Only 8 teams will be permitted to participate.

⭐ Veterans Category
Only 8 teams will be permitted to participate, giving experienced cricketers an opportunity to return to competitive action and inspire the younger generation.

👩 Women’s Category
A dedicated platform for women cricketers to showcase their talent and strengthen women’s participation in sports.

🧒 Under-16 Category
A special category aimed at encouraging young and emerging cricketers and providing them with competitive exposure at an early age.

With only 8 teams each in the Men’s and Veterans categories, team slots are strictly limited.

Teams interested in participating are requested to complete their registration at the earliest.

WALLIV PAEKIYO WALKATHON PROMOTES FITNESS, UNITY AND DRUG-FREE LIVING

Jammu, August 2: Rising Athletes of Jammu & Kashmir, in association with Epilogue News Network, successfully organised the "Walliv Paekiyo" Walkathon at Jagti Township, witnessing enthusiastic participation from citizens of all age groups. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, community harmony, and the message of a drug-free society.

The event was graced by Bhasha Sumbli as the Chief Guest.

The Guests of Honour included Bihari Lal Koul, Manorama Bakshi, Manoj Koul, Satish Raina, Deepak Fotedar, and B.K. Sharma (Sub-Inspector, Jagti).

Special Guest Awards were presented to J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages, JK Future Founders, and Venposh Foundation for their valuable contribution towards social development and community welfare.

The organisers expressed their gratitude to the Excise Department (North Wing), Jammu & Kashmir, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Jammu & Kashmir, Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, and the Social Welfare Department, Jammu & Kashmir for their support in making the event a success.

The winners of the walkathon were felicitated during the closing ceremony.

In the special categories, Bhavna Bhat was declared the Ladies' Winner, while Bhavtik Ganjoo emerged as the Kids' Winner.

The organisers also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the volunteer team comprising Akshay Garoo, Anjali Raina, Meenakshi Handoo, Paras Garoo, and Sachin Koul, whose commitment ensured the smooth conduct of the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Organiser Akshay Garoo said that "Waliv Pakiv is not just a walkathon but a people's movement dedicated to encouraging fitness, inspiring youth to stay away from substance abuse, and strengthening the spirit of unity within society."

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, dignitaries, volunteers, sponsors, media representatives, and supporting departments for their wholehearted cooperation. Rising Athletes of Jammu & Kashmir reaffirmed its commitment to organising more such initiatives for the welfare of society through sports and public awareness.
