Every year on July 20th, International Chess Day is celebrated to commemorate the day FIDE was founded (World Chess Federation) in the year 1924. This year marks the 98th anniversary of FIDE. Here are some quotations from well-known figures, in honour of International Chess Day 2022.

Magnus's ultra phenomenal run since 2011 has been the stuff of cinematic dreams!

From the very inception of his name being Number 1 on the rating charts, there has been no looking back for this 👑WORLD CHAMPION👑

Be it any format or time control, Magnus gets pumped up from the word GO ! & steamrolls his chess adversaries mercilessly and indiscriminately. His adoption of bullet king Andrew Tang recently is a testimony to that.

Not only is he acing the classical formats but showing unprecedented dominance even in the shortest formats blitz & bullet (his lichess rank of 1 and 1 speak volumes about that, his ratings suggest that superseding him is more than an arduous task even for the ones right next to him).

Here's a new arena for all JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY CHESS CLUB members!

JUCC has decided to start conducting fortnightly battles for all the chess enthusiasts out there, JUCC Fortnightly Tournament, starting this Sunday i.e 5th of December 2021

These particularly will aid as :

1. Practice tournaments to acclimatize and be eveready for JUCC Championships.
2. Bind us with our love for chess ❤️

As the D-Day nears to a close, & the matches being played immaculately perpetually, the propensity of the match being decided in the classical set is ramping up.

The one to draw the first blood will be a huge favorite. Nepo was a huge underdog people used to frantically dismiss his chances, but under the able Karjakin, Nepo has redeemed from a tactical, impatient player who blew his chances after having an explosive swashbuckling start to more steady, positional player who is leaving little room for vulnerability.

Magnus will have to step up the ante to live true to his words made prior to the inception of this Mega Battle!

Fearless Indian Women's team with their fighting performance beats Team Georgia, 2-2 & 2.5-1.5 with Tania, Vaishali & Harika being victorious in the Semifinal game of Fide World Women's Team Championship.

Next up the Finals against the Strong Russian team. Lets hope for positive results there.

With great fighting efforts & some super performances, finally TEAM INDIA's journey in the Online Olympiad 2021 comes to an end after getting defeated by Team USA in the semis, which performed extraordinarily to convert the match into their favor even after losing the 1st round.

We should appreciate the Indian Team for their dominant performance across the tournament. Special mentions to Vishy Anand for his amazing gameplay even at this age & Harika Dronavalli who just crushed her every opponents in the nerve-wracking playoffs.

Now its RUSSIA vs USA for the Finals. May the best team emerge victorious.
