Ground story -3 of 25

"What her father does" - I asked Mr. Shubham person filling the CUET form for that tribal young girl, I was more intrigued as she has outperformed each and every student in career assessment among 250 students we targeted. I was further interested as it was rare to have a tribal girl to be found in Maths stream

"He irrigates other field"- Shubham responded calmly, that is the work which comes with lot of insecurity and lowest of wages

I was shaken from inside, had goosebumps, more because that girl like many others was not even aware about the calibre she had. She was completely unsure about applying for any entrances. This gives us more courage and hope to move forward

We are dedicating this post to our beloved Nagendra who is no more us with physically but was instrumental for the cause

In the photograph attached you see Nagendra guiding a girl, this was taken just 15 days before he left us, and he was doing this work voluntarily without expectation of any return as he deeply believed to nurture and support each and every individuals around

Ground story: 2/25

"I can make shoes" - on motivating the students to tell what they are good at, one student spoke, "I give warranty of one year on the shoe as well" - he further added, once appreciated and acknowledged.

We have done career assessment of 250 students and now we are proceeding to the next phase of the individual counselling with following aspects:

1. Development of career score cards for each student, with a personal letter to parents and teachers
2. Detail discussion on what are their choices and aspiration along with limitations
3. Supporting them with detail written career choices of various aspired sector

The next phase will have:

1. Separate announcement group for each school updating them on various entrance exams dates
2. Podcast and discussion with various alumni of Bharat Calling on various sectors they are in like sports, music, dance, engineering, social sciences etc

We are still far away from what we are targeted and have limited means to reach out and make aspirations into career

"Let me call a girl" - The govt. teacher said with pride and the girl walked in with lot of sheets in hand and they were filled with colors, sketches and what not....

Just a day had passed and booming with opportunities to support students to guide in their career.....

This girl amazed me with her talent and passion in fine arts, and she was not aware of Fine Arts as a career stream ....so the journey has re-started. Imagine a girl good at certain skill and is unaware till her 18 years of age......

प्रिय साथियों,

यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ़ हैदराबाद के मनोविज्ञान विभाग की पूरे भारत के २० चुने हुए बच्चों में "अरविन्द (नाम परिवर्तित )" का नाम था, , मैंने पूछा - "मनोविज्ञान करना हैं कैसे आया दिमाग में ? " उने तुरंत जवाब दिया - "आपने ही तो पिछले साल बताया था | " मैं अवाक रह गया, कई दिनों तक मैं ठीक से सो नहीं पाया | पिछले साल "अरविन्द" के बेहद कम अंक थे, उसे बिलकुल समझ नहीं आ रहा था आखिर करना क्या हैं ? क्या पूरे दिल से की गयी एक बातचीत एक बच्चे में इतना बदलाव ला सकती हैं ? इससे भी ज्यादा मुझे ये याद आया की शायद मैं अपने आपको भूल गया था, मेरा दिल किसमे रमता हैं ? "अरविन्द" एक संदेशवाहक बन कर आया | Bharat Calling की पुन: शुरुआत "अरविंद" और अनेक बच्चे जिन तक हम पहुचेंगे उनको समर्पित हैं |

हम लोग Bharat Calling की फिर से शुरुआत कर रहे हैं, जिसमें कुछ बदलाव होंगे, जिससे की ज़मीनी स्तर पर करियर चुना को लेकर स्थाई रूप से प्रभाव आये |
