The Arunachal Bodybuilding Association (ABBA), in collaboration with the Capital Complex Bodybuilding Association, conducted an Athlete Workshop & Fitness Awareness Camp at Himalayan University, Jollang, Itanagar, with the objective of promoting fitness, scientific training, discipline and proper competition preparation among students and athletes.

As part of the programme, bodybuilding athletes were present at the university and showcased their physiques and competition poses before the students. The demonstration gave the students an opportunity to witness the discipline and physical preparation involved in bodybuilding, while the athletes shared their commitment to training and fitness to inspire the younger generation.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Prakash Divakaran spoke about the dedication and hard work athletes put into continuously developing their bodies and improving their performance. He said that seeing athletes on stage is inspiring and appreciated the discipline and commitment required to reach that level.

The Vice-Chancellor also announced plans to establish an in-house gym facility for the students of Himalayan University, aimed at providing students with better access to fitness and training facilities and encouraging a stronger culture of health and physical fitness within the university.

ABBA expressed its appreciation to Himalayan University and the Capital Complex Bodybuilding Association for supporting the initiative and creating a platform where athletes could interact with and inspire students.

ABBA CONDUCTS SELECTION TRIAL FOR 2nd MR. NORTH EAST INDIA BODYBUILDING & PHYSIQUE CHAMPIONSHIP 2026

The Arunachal Bodybuilding Association (ABBA) conducted its selection trial on August 9, 2026, at Todo Hotel, Itanagar, to select athletes for the 2nd Mr. North East India Bodybuilding & Physique Championship 2026, scheduled to be held in Kohima, Nagaland, from September 11 to 13, 2026.

Around 17 aspiring bodybuilders and physique athletes participated in the trial, showcasing their conditioning, physique, symmetry and stage presentation before the ABBA technical team and selection committee. Athletes unable to attend in person due to transportation constraints were also allowed to submit video entries for evaluation.

ALL TRIAL PARTICIPANTS TO REPRESENT ARUNACHAL

In a significant decision aimed at encouraging athletes and providing greater competitive exposure, ABBA has decided to include all athletes who participated in the selection trial in the Arunachal Pradesh contingent for the upcoming championship.

The decision reflects ABBA’s commitment to giving emerging athletes the opportunity to gain valuable experience on the regional stage and further develop their competitive journey.

During the trial, ABBA officials and technical members also mentored the athletes, providing guidance on conditioning, physique development, symmetry and stage presentation.

The 2nd Mr. North East India Bodybuilding & Physique Championship 2026, under the patronage of the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF) and hosted by the Nagaland Body Building & Fitness Association, will bring together athletes from across the North Eastern states.

ABBA remains committed to creating greater opportunities for bodybuilding and physique athletes of Arunachal Pradesh to compete, gain exposure and grow.

Today, ABBA bowed in gratitude.

We had the rare privilege of presenting a citation to the man who built a dream from nothing - our Founder President, Sir Techi Abraham.

Long before bodybuilding had a name in Arunachal, long before gyms, competitions, and champions existed here, there was one man with a vision, iron will, and tireless heart. He gave his sweat, his time, his entire life to this sport. While others doubted, he still continued. While others walked away, he stayed. He carried ABBA on his shoulders through every struggle, every setback, every silent battle behind the scenes.

What you see today - the medals, the athletes, the discipline, the respect bodybuilding commands across our state - is not by chance. It is because one man refused to give up.

Sir, ABBA is not just an association. It is your legacy. Every flex, every trophy, every young boy stepping onto stage carries a piece of your spirit. What ABBA is today, it is all because of you.

This citation is small. Words will always fall short. But it comes from every athlete, every coach, every member whose life you changed.
