Getting your knee down doesn’t always mean your body position is right.
I see this quite often on track, the lower body is hanging off, the knee is out, but the upper body is still sitting upright… or sometimes even leaning the opposite way.
And many times, it’s not because you don’t know what to do. Your body might simply not be allowing you to do it.
Restricted mobility somewhere in the chain , your wrist, elbow, shoulder or hips can stop your upper body from naturally moving into the corner.
So instead of forcing yourself to “hang off more”, start small.
Start with your wrist. Keep it relaxed and allow the hand to open up as you move into the corner.
Then look at your elbow let it open and drop naturally.
Free up your shoulders instead of locking them.
And finally, allow your hips to rotate and move with the bike.
Think of body position as a chain. ⛓️
If one joint is locked, something else has to compensate.
Sometimes the fix to your riding isn’t more lean angle or more hanging off.
It’s simply giving your body the freedom to move. 🏍️
