Welding repair, grinding marks, wrong alignment, touch up painting, incorrect documentation and repeated NCRs. Some days it feels like you are checking the same defects that you checked last week and the week before.
I understand this very well because I have faced the same situation in my early years. We inspected the job, wrote the observation, submitted the report and moved to the next assignment. But the real issue never stopped.
With experience, I realised one simple truth. Inspection can find the defect, but only integrated work can stop it from repeating.
As QA/QC professionals, when we think differently and use a simple integrated approach, our work becomes easier, our confidence grows and our value in the company increases.
Here are a few habits that can make a big difference in your daily work:
โ Do not just write the defect. Understand why it happened.
โ Check whether the acceptance criteria is clear to the vendor or supervisor.
โ Link every NCR to a corrective action and follow up on the closure.
โ Guide the welder or fitter with simple instructions when needed.
โ Keep your documentation clean and ready. It builds trust.
โ Share one improvement idea with your team every week.
These small actions help you move from an inspector to a problem solver. That is where real career growth begins.
This is also the foundation of the Integrated QAQC approach that I follow. We connect three things in one line.
โ Simple systems
โ Practical training
โ Effective inspection
When these come together, quality problems reduce and engineers get better recognition from their managers, vendors and clients.
On this Quality Week, I want to remind every QA/QC professional that you play a very important role. You protect time, cost and reputation. You create value. And you can build a strong future if you think in the right direction and take ownership of improvement.
If you need guidance on handling repeated issues or want clarity on your career path, you can always message me. I will support you with practical steps that work in real project and shop floor conditions.
Let us think differently, grow confidently and become better every day.
