*Lake Cleanup Drive @ Mansoorabad Chinna Cheruvu on 27th Feb 22.*
The environment is no one's property to destroy; it's everyone's responsibility to protect and nurture. Let's STOP dumping garbage and plastic into lakes. Save our lakes, save our environment and let's make this world a better place for our kids and generations to come.
*Mansoorabad chinna cheruvu* has a beautiful landscape and a walking/ jogging track. Unfortunately, instead of enjoying the beauty of nature, walkers and joggers see emptied beer bottles, broken whiskey bottles, biryani parcels covers, leftover food wrapped in plastic all over the track. Instead of feeling fresh air early in the morning, the stench of garbage welcomes walkers. It's one of the most abused lakes in this area. This has become a hub for all kinds of illegal and uncivil activities including drugs. Walkers and joggers stopped coming here because of this nuisance. Nearby residents and commercial shops also started dumping garbage taking this as an advantage.
Despite complaining to GHMC officials and Police officials, offenders continue to damage the lake as there's no serious action taken as of now. Despite informing the alcohol consumers and drug addicts multiple times, our concerns have not fallen on deaf ears.
*Dha3R NGO* in collaboration with *Aasya foundation* and *Mansoorabad Milers* organized a lake cleanup drive today and collected more than two trucks of garbage. We put a couple of thought-provoking banners to not dump garbage again. After four hours of huge effort, we could clear 50% of the garbage only.
We request police to be on a night patrol regularly to nab the drunkards and drug addicts. We also request GHMC officials and the lake protection committee to save *CHINNA CHERUVU* and save our environment. We are always available to help you.

Responsible Mansoorabad Youth
