Rising 15,600 ft above sea level, Gongkar La stands in the remote frontier of Arunachal Pradesh, beyond Mago village in Tawang. Surrounded by glaciers, snowfields, and the mighty Himalayas, this high-altitude pass has long tested the endurance of everyone who dares to reach it.

For generations, these remote mountains have been home to the Monpa people, whose lives, traditions, and journeys have been shaped by this harsh yet breathtaking landscape.

Long before these roads saw adventure motorcycles, the surrounding valleys and high-altitude trails were traversed by herders, traders, and pilgrims moving through the Himalayan frontier. Today, Gongkar La stands as one of Arunachal's most challenging and awe-inspiring destinations, where snow, wind, and altitude test every traveler.
