A painful end to our Batagund Premier League campaign today. Things were against us from the start—due to an unavoidable emergency, one of our key players got late, and unfortunately, rules didn't allow him to join. We had to take the field with only 10 players.
YCC Chontipora won the toss, batted first, and set a massive target of 182 runs in 16 overs. Facing a mountain to climb with a man short, our boys showed what true character looks like.
Our openers gave us a dream start and kept us alive until the very last ball:
Basit played a brilliant knock of 49 runs.
Shahid Quyoom led from the front with a spectacular 52 runs.
We fought like absolute lions but fell agonizingly short by just 5 runs.
Losing a knockout match this close hurts deeply, but playing with 10 men and coming within one hit of a massive chase proves the immense talent and heart of this team. We didn’t lose today; we just ran out of luck.
Heads high, boys. We will dust ourselves off, learn from this adversity, and come back unstoppable in our upcoming fixtures🏏💪.
