Most Common and Frustrating Problems:
- My Belly doesnāt reduce
- I am Skinny Fat
- I am unable to build muscles
- I have an event to look good for
To address the above, we do a google search:
- How to lose a lot of weight in 5 days/4 weeks/ 12 weeks?
- How to add an inch to your biceps in 4 weeks or Thorās workout routine?
We follow it blindly.
End results: lost few, built some muscle but not even close to the guy on the cover page.
Well the reason is you clicked on the pop up which sounds like āClaim your $10000000000ā.
Well, then what is the Solution?Every single post is related to this.
You gain because you are eating more than your body needs.
You lose because you are eating less than the required energy intake.
Now it is not as simple.
For example: You are a Women and you consume roughly around 1200-1400 Calories a day for years. You consume more carbs ( 1 gm yields 4 kcal) hence the Calorie is not much but you eat pretty much everything( roti, dal, sabzi, pani puri, rice, poha, chai, coffee).
Now, you start eating paneer, chicken and other protein- fat rich food and healthy food items.
Most of you find it too less to consume in the beginning but when you try to eat, you are unable to consume. Multiple reasons we think of- too filling, too much protein, monotonous, etc.
Real Why?
These food items have carbs, fat and protein which all contribute to Calories so the quantity looks less but Calorie wise it is more or less fine.
Now the main problem:
You start calculating food Calories:
Started at BMR Calories and lost a bit.
Increased Calories to BMR+ 200 next week; didnāt lose much. Frustrating?
You drop it again and you lose. Happy?
Now you keep doing the process and notice that you donāt lose beyond BMR+500 Calories. Why?
Because your activity level for years was not much and you were used to eating so less that your body has adapted to those many Calories. Now, your body needs to adapt to higher Calories so that it could lose fat at a better Caloric intake and not so low intake. This takes time. Your body is not a machine. You need to give it all your Life(feasible or not- doesnāt matter in real). If you donāt, your Body will give up on You.
Take away Point- Look for long term goals and work on improving your Lifestyle by getting into a mode of adherence, good activity level and follow a Quantified approach. You may not lose or gain every week. It will take itās time but what you achieve in long term will be sustainable and last longer.
Measure Progress not just in terms of how many kgs or how much inches you lost or gained. Measure it in terms of ā at how many Calories you are maintaining ?ā. It should be higher than when you started.
