Guwahati Chess Academy is Starting a Advance Special Batch for serious chess players, with limited seats available.
Eligibility Criteria:
✔️ Any rated player
✔️ Players who have participated in at least one National Tournament
✔️ Players who have completed at least one year at the Academy
Batch Details:
🕒 Timing: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📅 Days: Tuesday & Wednesday
✅ Additional: Players must also choose one regular batch.

The First Chess Olympiad was held in Paris from July 12 to 20, 1924, alongside the 1924 Summer Olympics, at the Hotel Majestic. At the conclusion of this tournament, the World Chess Federation (FIDE) was founded. The first official Chess Olympiad was organized in 1927, taking place in London.

India made its debut in the Chess Olympiad in Moscow in 1956.

Fast forward to 2024, marking 100 years of the Chess Olympiad, and in Budapest, a historic moment unfolded. In a competition featuring 195 countries in the Open section and 181 in the Women's section, India’s young and talented chess players won the gold medal for the first time.
In the Open section, D. Gukesh, R. Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Erigaisi, Vidit Gujrathi, and P. Harikrishna and in the Women's section, D. Harika, R. Vaishali, Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Agrawal, and Tania Sachdev dominated the competition. Both teams not only won gold medals but also commanded the tournament with style.

Suryanshu Saikia Clinched the Title

Suryanshu Saikia clinched the title in Guwahati Chess Academy Under-7 Chess Championship-2024. Suryanshu remains unbeaten throughout the tournament scored 3 points from 3 rounds. In the final round Suryanshu beat Aadvik Banik. Aadvik scored 2 points from 3 rounds. Agastya Baruah scored 1 point from 3 rounds and got third position. Gaurav Sarma got fourth position. The tournament was held in round robin league system among four players.
The tournament was held from 15th March to 17th March, 2024 started on 15th March, 2024 at Guwahati Chess Academy Premises at R G Baruah Road, Guwahati. Winners were awarded Trophy in prize distribution ceremony. Fide Arbiter Pranab Kumar Nath conducted the tournament as Chief Arbiter.
