In January 2019, we had the privilege of interviewing Dommaraju Gukesh shortly after he became the world's second-youngest Grandmaster at just 12 years old. His unwavering ambition and resilience were evident even then. Now, at 18, Gukesh has made history as the youngest undisputed World Chess Champion, exemplifying relentless grit and determination. Notably, he is the youngest player to surpass a FIDE rating of 2750 and has been instrumental in India's gold medal victories at the 2024 Chess Olympiad.
