About Semi Design
Semi Design is a service as well as a training company, headquarter based in Greater Noida. We are following the mission Atmanirbhar Bharat & Digital India Campaign. It started with a very strong idea to train and get innovation by individuals. Semi design initially covered mainly low power based IP but now we have expanded in other subparts of semiconductors research and develop

ment. Semi Design since its inception going step by step towards its main vision. Semi design is going to be the main R&D hub for new upcoming technologies in the semiconductor industry.

UART vs I²C vs SPI — Which One Should You Choose? 🔌

Three of the most common communication protocols in embedded systems — but they solve different problems.

🔵 UART
→ Simple point-to-point communication
→ 2 wires: TX & RX
→ No clock line
→ Great for debugging, GPS, Bluetooth & serial communication

🟢 I²C
→ Multiple devices on the same bus
→ 2 wires: SDA & SCL
→ Address-based communication
→ Commonly used with sensors, EEPROM, RTC & PMIC

🟣 SPI
→ High-speed synchronous communication
→ SCLK, MOSI, MISO & CS
→ Full-duplex communication
→ Ideal for Flash, displays, ADC/DAC & high-speed peripherals

Quick rule:
UART → Keep it simple
I²C → Connect multiple devices with fewer pins
SPI → Choose speed & throughput

If you’re learning VLSI, Embedded Systems or SoC Design, understanding these protocols is essential.

💬 Which protocol do you use most — UART, I²C or SPI?

Apple’s Unified Memory Explained 🚀

Why does Apple’s chip architecture feel so different from traditional CPU + GPU systems?

This brief explanation of Apple’s Unified Memory Architecture makes the concept much easier to understand.

Instead of having separate memory pools for the CPU and GPU, Apple’s approach allows different processing units to access a shared memory pool.

🔹 Less data copying
🔹 Better bandwidth utilization
🔹 Lower latency
🔹 More efficient CPU–GPU communication
🔹 Improved performance for AI/ML workloads

The bigger takeaway for semiconductor engineers: memory architecture is becoming just as important as compute architecture.

A simple concept, but a very important one when understanding modern SoCs. 💡

Thanks for the brief and simplified explanation!

🔥 MOST TRICKY DIGITAL LOGIC CHALLENGE

Looks simple. It isn’t. 👀

A 4:1 MUX where the data inputs and select lines are both functions of A and B can easily fool you into choosing the obvious answer.

The key is to carefully trace the MUX selection for every A/B combination and then simplify the resulting function.

💬 Drop your answer in the comments with your reasoning.

Tag a digital-design friend and see if they can solve it without a simulator. 🧠
