This is one of the historical stadium present in the country. It has seen it all being it the debut of former Australian cricket star Adam Gilchrist and West Indies legend Chaderpaul or the last International outing of Kapil Dev. Even the famous scoop shot was discovered here by Douglas Marrilier of Zimbabwe who denied victory to India in 2002. The stadium has overall hosted 8 international Cricke

t matches. Over the years it has been the victim of petty politics and since 2006 no First Class or List A match has been played here. The last International played here was in 2006 where India won by 4 wickets. In the year 2007 it got another offer to host Australian Cricket Team but politics played a crucial role and the match was shifted to some other city. Since 2006 due to petty politics it has never hosted any match but people have emotions attached to it. Still waiting for promises to turn into progress!
It’s been over 6 years since the renovation of Nahar Singh Stadium began, yet the place remains in an awful state. The completion deadline was 2022, but since 2020, not even a single brick has moved.
It’s time the authorities take notice and restart the work — our city deserves better! 🏟️💔

Our beloved Nahar Singh Stadium is in ruin again !! They srated developing it in february 2019 and renovation work was on full swing till 2020 but since then the work has stopped here. Only God knows when will authorities wake up !!
