The 5-Day National Workshop on Kinanthropometry will be organized to provide theoretical knowledge and practical training in anthropometric assessment. The workshop will focus on standardized methods for measuring body size, shape, body composition, and proportionality.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in measuring height, weight, skinfolds, girths, breadths, and lengths using internationally accepted protocols. Expert resource persons will conduct lectures and practical demonstrations to ensure accuracy and reliability. The workshop will highlight the application of kinanthropometry in physical education, sports performance analysis, health assessment, and research. Ethical issues and data accuracy will also be emphasized. The
programme will help participants develop technical skills and research competence in
kinanthropometry.

University for selection of contingents for participating in East Zone Inter-University Football
Women and North East Zone Inter University Football Tournament Men Tournament to be held at Vidyasagar University, Midnapur West Bengal and Assam Royal Global University, Guwahati, Assam.

Venue: RGU, Football Main Field
Reporting Date & Time: 17h November 2025, 9.00 AM Sharp.

All interested students of RGU and its affiliated colleges are hereby directed to report for the

selection trial on the aforesaid date and time with the following documents to Mr. Sangey Tsering

Three-Day International Conference on Emerging Trends in Sports Science & High Performance (ETSSHP-2025) Concludes Successfully at RGU

Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, October 17, 2025:
The Three-Day International Conference on “Emerging Trends in Sports Science & High Performance (ETSSHP-2025)”, organized by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), concluded successfully on 17th October 2025 with a grand Valedictory Ceremony.

The Valedictory Programme was graced by Prof. S.K. Nayak, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor i/c, RGU, as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. Otem Padung, Registrar In-Charge, RGU, as the Guest of Honour, and Prof. Sambhu Prasad, Dean, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, RGU.

In his Welcome Address, Associate Professor Anil Mili, Organising Secretary of the conference, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all contributors and delegates for their active participation in making the three-day academic event a remarkable success.

Delivering the Special Remarks, Prof. Sambhu Prasad highlighted that the conference had surpassed expectations by uniting young researchers and seasoned professionals from across India and abroad. He emphasized the importance of collaborative research and technological integration to further advance the discipline of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

The conference also featured awards for academic excellence. The Best Research Paper Award was conferred upon Dr. Champa Tanga of Rajiv Gandhi University, while the Best Paper Presenter Award went to Assistant Professor Heta Meto from Don Bosco College, Itanagar. The awards were presented by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar In-Charge, respectively.

During the Feedback and Reflection session, eminent delegates including Dr. Manoh V. Hede (Goa University), Dr. Samarendra Mohan Ghosh (Dr. C.V. Raman University, Bilaspur), Associate Professor Pradip Dutta (Sports Authority of India, LNIPE, Kerala), Dr. Shwetasri Mohanta (Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi), and Dr. Dessalegn Wasw Mola (Ambo University, Ethiopia) shared their insights and appreciation.

From 17th September to 2nd October 2025, the Department of Physical Education is actively observing Swachhta Hi Seva. As part of this campaign, our faculty members and students have taken the initiative to clean the football field, its surroundings, and the boxing arena. With three hours of relentless effort and the guidance of our HoDs, the drive was a meaningful success. Heartfelt thanks to our dear students for their dedication and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and promoting a healthier environment.
