Ahmed Tahan Wins Silver at 4th Mount Everest International Taekwondo Championships 2026

Bringing pride to the nation and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, Ahmed Tahan from Doda secured a silver medal at the 4th Mount Everest International Taekwondo Championships 2026, held at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, from February 15 to 20, 2026.

The championship was organized by the Nepal Taekwondo Association, sanctioned by World Taekwondo, and supported by the Asian Taekwondo Union. The international event witnessed participation from several countries and featured high standards of competition and sportsmanship.

Ahmed Tahan, a dedicated trainee of Shield Taekwondo Academy, Doda, delivered an impressive performance in the Junior Boys Under 48 kg category to earn the silver medal. He trains under the guidance of Coach and Referee Mr. Burhan Ud Din Khan, whose mentorship has been instrumental in nurturing talented athletes from the region and preparing them for international platforms.

The Indian contingent also included Radha Sharma in the Senior Women Under 53 kg category, Khadija Ul Qubra in the Senior Women Under 46 kg category, and Mutaib Masood in the Cadet Boys Under 57 kg category. All participants represented the country with determination and commitment.

Mr. Junaid Ali Khan, President of TADD, congratulated the team for their commendable performance and for representing India with dedication at the international level. Mr. Vinod Kumar, who supported the squad as India Team Coach, appreciated the players for their discipline and perseverance throughout the championship.

The team also expressed gratitude to Master Atul Pangotra, International Coach and Referee, for his continued guidance and encouragement in promoting taekwondo talent from Jammu and Kashmir. He congratulated the athletes for their efforts and performance at the championship.
