Filled with immense Gratitude & love and with Great reverence I share how Blessed I felt to witness classical dance performances at Swara festival 2026.

In her spell bounding kathak performance Shinjini kulkarni ji , granddaughter of Birju Maharaj ji, delivered a liberating message of freeing one's being from the shackles of Samsara. She compared human agony, pain & longing with that of a deer who spends its life searching outside for the fragrance that comes from within itself. With great beauty, power & grace she portrayed how a human gets deluded by Ignorance and is caught up in the illusory world.
She concluded with a strong message that the destiny of a human being is fulfilled when one gets liberated from this illusion of Samsara through raising one's consciousness to the point where the idea of individual self perishes and there is absorption in the WHOLE i.e drenched in DIVINITY.

In another breathtaking performance Bharatnatyam dancer Navtej Johar ji depicted a Blissful experience of' Brahmnaad ' resonating through one's consciousness.

These performances made Divine come alive in a way I had never witnessed earlier.
It made me filled with deep gratitude for all that I am gifted with and all the choices I made in my life that brought me to witness this Divine evening.

Kathak is an art of expression exhibiting a variety of footwork & rhythmic patterns. Dancing on mantras and bhajans connects directly with the divine and the tala and laya is presented through hands and feet in sync with the tabla.
