शतरंज का यह खेल है
64 वर्गो का यह खेल
दो रंगो का इस में मेल
पहले बारी राजा की आती
जिस के पीछे सेना साऱी पड़ जाती
फिर बारी रानी की जहाँ चाहती वहां है जाती
सब को ऐसा नाच नाचाती
जिस को सोच बुधि थक जाती
फिर बारी हाथी की आती
जिस की राह है सीधी जाती
यह है राजा के सुख दुख का साथी
जैसे ही राजा पर मुसीबत आती हाथी की तो बदल जाती
फिर बारी ऊंट की आती
जिस की रेखा तिरछी जाती
फिर बारी घोडा की आती
जिसकी ढाई बड़ी आघाती
अंत में बारी सिपाही की आती
जिसकी चाल सीधी और मार तिरछी हो जाती
जैसे ही करे यह 7 घर को पार
बढ़ जाये इसकी शक्ति पार
इन सबका ही यह मेल है

World champion Vishwanathan Anand played out his second draw on the trot, spinning peace with Levon Aronian of America in the second round of the 5th final Masters chess here.
With draws from two white games so far, it turns out to be a mediocre start for Anand, who is back to competitive chess after a four month break.
the Indian ace will certainly feel the pressure as the tournament progresses with five black and just three white games remaining for him in the last eight rounds.

“Checkmate”
It is the goal of the game. When the king has none of the following possible defense:
1. The king has no Safe Square to which it can move.
2. There is no way to block the check by interposing.
3. There is no possibility of capturing the piece that is checking the king.

“Check”
When the king is directly attacked by an enemy piece is in check. The king must get out of the check. If it cannot the game is over as it is a chess mate.

The Knight
Knight is only piece that can jump over the pieces. It moves in L-Shape, two squares forward or backward plus one square sideways…..or two squares sideways followed by one square forward or backward.
