October feels like a good time to return to something familiar and look at it with fresh eyes. It has always brought its own kind of creative energy.
Inktober, the month-long art challenge, is probably the most familiar one, a simple idea that has inspired many artists to create consistently throughout the month.
Over the years, I’ve explored October in my own way through Flowertober and Gardentober, each giving me a different creative direction to follow.
This year, I wanted to do something a little different!
Instead of choosing another prompt list, I decided to follow my own rhythm returning to a craft I know, love and have explored before: Leheriya.
I’ll be taking it from textile to paper and exploring what happens when its lines, colours and rhythms are reimagined through watercolour.
One lehar at a time.
Stay tuned.
