Today, Children’s Day means more than celebrations—it means connection.

Because every child is quietly asking:
“Do you see me? Do you understand me? Do you enjoy being with me?”
When we can truly say yes, we honor the real spirit of Children’s Day, not just for a day, but every day.

Rooting U wishes all of you (that little child, still alive in all of us) a very Happy Children's Day

On Guru Nanak Jayanti, a reminder for us as parents and educators:

He taught how to live, how to treat others, and how to raise grounded human beings.

➡️ Everyone is equal.
Guru Nanak didn’t just teach equality; he showed it.
In Langar, everyone sits together on the floor. No “better,” no “less.” Teach them to respect every individual

➡️ Share What You Have
“Sacha Sauda” teaches children that giving is the biggest service to the society. Let's show our children how to share

➡️ Watch the Five Inner Battles
Ego, anger, greed, attachment, and desires still show up
just in newer forms: comparison, gaming rage, screen addiction, and the “I must win” mindset. Teach them humility and how to lose gracefully, because life is not going to be same always; there are ups and there are downs too

➡️ Earn With Honesty
No shortcuts. No copying. No “easy success.”
“Kirat Karo” teaches that integrity is the real achievement.

➡️Think. Don’t Follow Blindly.
The more questions our children ask about beliefs, about rituals, and about education, the more they learn how to use their mind and heart.

RootingU: Calm, Connected & Cybersmart Children wishes you all a very Happy Guru Nanak Jayanti

Too much, too soon! Did you know Indian children under 5 spend 2.2 hours daily on screens — far above the recommended zero-screen guideline for infants?

Early childhood is when brains grow fastest. Excess screen time can affect cognitive, social, and emotional development. Small changes today — like screen-free play, reading, and family time — can make a big difference tomorrow.

Schools are embracing digital classrooms, but are they truly safe?

Indian schools are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks, from phishing emails to data breaches exposing students’ personal information. Without proper cybersecurity measures, schools risk compromised data, disrupted learning, and loss of trust among parents.

By educating staff and students about cyber safety, implementing strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and regular audits, schools can create a safer digital environment that protects both learning and privacy. Ignoring these measures puts children’s data and the school’s reputation at serious risk.

Parents, refer us to your school so we can help implement effective cyber safety measures and secure your child’s digital learning space.

𝗜𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶, 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗜?

Google’s Gemini Nano Banana AI is taking the internet by storm, transforming selfies into fun 3D figurines.

But many wonder:
𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮?
What Their Privacy Policy Says.
- Data Collection Purpose:
Google collects images you upload to improve AI models and provide the service.

- Data Retention:
By default, Google retains the data for up to 18 months.
(Source: Gadgets360)

- Anonymisation Claim:
Google states it disconnects your account information before human reviewers analyse any uploads.

⚠️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁:
Multiple reports have revealed that AI-generated images sometimes include unexpected personal details, which raises red flags about the AI inferring sensitive data from your photos.
(Source: IndianExpress)

⚠️ Scam Apps & Fake Platforms:
IPS officers and cybersecurity experts have warned that unofficial websites mimic the trend to collect personal data or inject malware.
(Source: FinancialExpress)

𝗦𝗼, 𝗜𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮?
✔️ Google follows strict policies but still stores your uploads to train AI models.
✔️ There is no confirmed evidence that Google is actively misusing Nano Banana uploads.
✔️ BUT, the risk lies in how much data AI can infer from your photo and in the misuse by fake third-party apps claiming to offer the same service.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘄..
- Only use the official Google Gemini app or AI Studio.
- Don’t upload sensitive images (avoid personal IDs, documents, and intimate pictures).
- Review your Google Account Activity regularly:

Every mother dreams of a safe childhood for her child…
But today’s biggest threats aren’t outside; they’re online.

A young girl trusted someone online.
What followed was manipulation, blackmail, and fear.
She needed someone to listen.

At Rooting U, we believe in empowering parents and children with digital safety knowledge.

Google’s Gemini AI was flagged as “high risk” for children and teens in an independent safety review by Common Sense Media.

Key findings:
• Inappropriate content still accessible (adult content, drugs, unsafe mental health advice).
• Poor recognition of emotional distress.
• No age-specific design (simply adult AI with filters).

Applause to Common Sense Media for independent testing that holds tech accountable in a rapidly evolving space.

The lesson is clear:
Child safety must be built in from day one, not patched later.

Why are today’s teens scrolling endlessly yet struggling silently?

The digital world promises entertainment and escape, but often leaves teens overwhelmed, anxious, and disconnected from the people who matter most. RootingU is on a mission across India’s schools to guide teens, parents, and educators in creating safe, supportive spaces—online and offline. Because behind every silent teen is a voice waiting to be heard.

A staggering 71% of parents are concerned about their child’s screen time. While technology opens doors to learning and connection, it also brings challenges—sleep disruption, reduced focus, and less family interaction. The digital world is powerful, but parenting today means guiding kids toward healthy tech habits.
