π§Basic Rock Climbing Course
The Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) in collaboration with the My Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports, Govt of India, is organizing the Basic Rock Climbing Course β 2026 at Badami, Karnataka.
This eight-day, 55-hour course is designed for beginners and provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of rock climbing.
Participants will learn the basic skills required on the rocks through an intensive and energetic program with experienced IMF mentors and instructors.
The course will introduce participants to the world of rock climbing and help them acquire skills in this unique sport while challenging themselves and developing the confidence needed to pursue rock climbing.
The syllabus includes Safety Orientation, Equipment Overview, Basic Climbing Techniques, Climbing Efficiently, Belaying Skills, Top Rope Climbing, Climbing Etiquette and Ethics, Risk Management and Environmental Awareness. Participants will also learn about building anchors and have first-hand experience of bouldering, lead climbing, multi-pitch climbing and safety drills.
The course aims to provide beginners with a structured opportunity to develop their climbing skills and confidence. At the conclusion of the course, participants will be provided with resources and recommendations for further developing their climbing skills.
The course will be conducted in Four batches: (Badami - Batch 3 (Date: 16 Sep - 23 Sep). Leh - Batch 4 (Date: 1 Oct - 08 Oct). Delhi - Batch 5 (Date: 21 Oct - 28 Oct).Delhi - Batch 6 (Date: 29 Oct - 05 Nov). (The last date to apply is 10th sept 2026.)
The security deposit of Rs.1,000/- is reimbursable after completion of the camp.
It is mandatory to register in my Bharat Portal as volunteer.
